Even my bottomless teenage sons were happy with this friendly, not-too-fancy spot. We had started out for Pepe's Pizza on a Monday evening, but seeing the long line, went down the block and found this relatively empty restaurant. Our waiter was wonderful, took very good care of the boys and me. He checked to make sure the cook was willing to do a special order of gnocci with pesto cream sauce for us. I had the tilapia with sauteed spinach in a light white wine flavored broth and my husband had the special rolade (thin, pounded beef flank steak with parsley and seasonings rolled up and served with penne & marinara, "cuts with a fork" tender. All this with a calamari starter, two personal pizzas for the boys , dinner salads, fresh warm bread, cocktails & wine for about $100. An excellent bargain for a family of four.
