“Good Price Point... Good location... Shuttle service- perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Recently traveled to New Haven for birth of grandchild. Premier Hotel was "whistle clean," easy access to/from, and accommodating to the point they filled our coffee carafe each morning to take to the Children's Hospital as we got on their complimentary shuttle service.

Rooms are "full amenities" DO NOT MISS THE COMPLIMENTARY AMERICAN BREAKFAST!!! It's amazing.

Price, location, complimentary shuttle, amenities and staff friendliness were all 100% in our opinion!

Room Tip: All rooms are "good" as far as location are concerned

We recently stayed at New Haven Premiere Hotel and Suites because we were in town for a Relay for Life fund raiser. The location seemed adequate for what we needed. The exterior of the hotel/suites could use some updating. The rooms were basically clean .. they could also use some updating . Overall not 100% sure we'd stay there again (it was the only available hotel in town) .. only because we prefer something a little more centrally located. Complimentary hot breakfast was superb. Bed was very comfortable.

Green Features: I liked that the key cards for the room were made of paper and recyclable

Everything was as promised - plenty of parking, lots of good food for breakfast AND dinner for an amazing price! Extra bedroom and bathroom for kids upstairs, and a lovely furnished kitchen. Maid service every day. The beds were INCREDIBLY comfortable. Husband and kids loved this home away from home. Nice shuttle service to town also. Daughter's headed to Yale, and we will definitely stay here again since it's 5 minutes away. Easy access to freeway for outings - couldn't have asked for more.

Green Features: Green rating is well-explained in hotel literature.

We stayed in the penthouse suite, which sounded much better than it was. The write up made it seem luxurious, but it definitely is not. Room was on second floor-up 2 flights of stairs which, if you have issues with climbing stairs you will want to avoid. Parking was ridiculous, they promise ample parking but each night we would have to park quite a ways away from the room and walk back to it. We were under the impression that there were 2 spots for each room. It was difficult to get one. It is near train tracks, another thing they fail to mention. I actually got used to that though. The room set up was nice in that our family of 6 fit fine & having 2 bathrooms was a big plus. Rooms could use updating & cleaning. Kitchen area was dumpy, but stove, micro & refrigerator worked. Best part of deal was the breakfast & dinner inclusion. Breakfasts were very nice-we loved the Belgian waffles! Noticed that homeless people found their way into breakfast area, although not actual hotel guests. Employees were very kind and helpful.

Room Tip: Didn't see any pool there? All entry to rooms is outdoors, no elevators. If handicapped, go fo...

Nice hotel, staff was helpful. Good breakfast. Noted some updating was going on-the property was pretty, the rooms were cozy. nice location. The hotel sits back off of the road so there is a nice area to take a walk

The suites are huge and set far away from any roads, so they are very quiet. Breakfast is included. The place is green certified, which is nice to support. The beds are comfortable. There are three TVA, two bathrooms, and a full kitchen.

I suspect this was a really premier property 20 or more years ago. They offer a series of suites located in little townhouses each with a tiny balcony. Ours had a sitting area, nearly full-sized kitchen (full fridge, dishwasher, stove, micro, and so on), nice bed, lots of closets.

The facility now clearly shows its age: our stove had a bad burner, the dishwasher's soap dispenser wouldn't lock, the internet connection needed reset and plugged-in, and furnace seemed to blow hot and cold. In each case, the front desk responded promptly and professionally.

The room was very clean and the bed quite comfortable. The property is isolated from downtown and nothing is within walking distance. The hotel provides a free shuttle to and from pretty much any place in New Haven, running to 8:30 at night. The common area in the lobby is clean and comfortable and there's a decent breakfast on offer.

This was a good value and offered a comfortable, pleasant five day stay.
