“B&B Near Yale Museums”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Welcoming hosts greeted us for our 2 day stay in New Haven with nice conversation, yummy breakfasts and comfortable room. We had never stopped in New Haven and wanted to visit the Yale Museums which are quite close to the B&B (Art, British and Peabody [ with it's fantastic collection of birds]). We had delicious lunches at the 2 bookstores across the street from the Art and British museums, good this crust pizza at Pepe's and a wonderful dinner sitting at the bar at Caseus Fromagerie & Bistro.

“A New Haven Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Our one night anniversary getaway was spent at A Touch of Ireland during the first weekend in
November. We could not have enjoyed our stay more. This B & B, being just minutes from Yale, downtown New Haven, Wooster Street, the Ei Whitney Museum, and the Peabody Museum, was ideally situated for our afternoon and evening excursions. The guesthouse was warm and welcoming with seasonal touches of Autumn decorating the rooms. Our room (The Cork Room) was clean, comfortable and complete with private bath. We were expecting a wonderful breakfast (based on reviews we had read) and we were not disappointed. Scones, fresh fruit, Irish sausage, and asparagus quiche were delicious and worth the stay alone. Throughout the day tea, beverages, and fresh baked goods were available - a nice touch that we appreciated. The owners and innkeepers, Jeannine and Michael McCann, were gracious and accommodating hosts who met our every need. The B & B is more than a business to them - it is a passion - and it shows in the professionalism and yet coziness of their operation. After a long Irish good bye, we realized that the McCanns were the long lost friends we were meeting for the first time.

“A wee respite in New Haven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This B & B is quite charming, and its proprietors even more so. It was like going to Grandma's quaint home for a visit. We were so well taken care of! Michael offered us Irish liqueur in the evening, and Jeannine fed us---oh, so well---in the morning. I would highly recommend this wee bit of Ireland in Connecticut.

“Lovely place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We visited A Touch of Ireland in New Haven during our tour of the eastern side of the USA in September 2012. The hosts were warm and welcoming, willing to chat and give advice on places to visit and eat locally. The hostess/owner willingly moved us to another room when we arrived as soon as she realized we had requested a twin-bed room (a request apparently not passed on by the travel agent). Breakfast was wonderful, specially prepared and cooked by the owner, whose husband came and greeted us and chatted, but who was keen to point out that he did not want to intrude on us if we preferred privacy (not a problem, he was very interesting and entertaining). There is a comfortable lounge to sit and read (from their extensive library of books and magazines if you have not brought your own) and free coffee or a wonderful selection of teas and plenty of water and soft drinks available in the fridge. Situated just on the fringe of the town, but with easy access. I recommend a stay here.

“Quiet B&B with Great Breakfasts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

We stayed in New Haven for a couple of days. The innkeeper was hospitable. The breakfasts were excellent. The bed was comfortable. TripAdvisor steered us in the right direction again!

There were a lot of comments about how difficult the driveway is. We have a BMW (really low to the ground) and yes, we had to carefully enter/ exit the driveway, but it wasn't nearly as dramatic as some of the reviews made it out to be. So be careful on the bump, but don't let that affect your decision to stay at this wonderful b&b.
