“Very accomodating and comfortable place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2011

We arrived the day before Hurricane Irene was supposed to hit and had to cut our stay short. Jeanine was very friendly and accomodating. The location is very good for visiting Yale and the house is cozy and comfortable.

“Delightful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2011

We stayed at this charming Bed and Breakfast for 2 nights in June this year during a motoring holiday of Connecticut and neighboring states. Our upstairs room was fresh and airy, charmingly furnished and had comfortable beds. A bar refrigerator for guests in the sitting room held a supply of water and soft drinks. Jeannine, the innkeeper, was a most hospitable and friendly hostess and offered plenty of suggestions and local advice for visitors. Breakfast was a delicious and we appreciated the addition of home baked goodies each morning. Would definitely recommend.

“Looking forward to our next visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2011

Our recent visit to Touch of Ireland Guest House with our family was superb. We were visiting from Florida for a very special 90th birthday celebration. We stayed in the Armagh and Dubliner suite and enjoyed how private it was for our family slumber party. The bed sheets were very soft, and the beds so comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing out on the lovely summer porch which had many charming windows; you felt like you were sitting outdoors. In the back of the guest house is a lovely pergola filled with lush foliage where we went to relax, have wonderful conversations, and of course afternoon tea. We especially enjoyed watching the many species of birds feeding in the pretty backyard; they too knew what a lovely place this was to visit. The guest house is conveniently located to shopping and restaurants; and the off-street parking was a great bonus.

Jeannine and Michael were warm, gracious hosts and made us feel like this was our home away from home. We look forward to return and enjoy one of other beautiful rooms that this charming guest house has to offer.

“Luck of the Irish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

We stayed 2 nights in the Cork Room and found the room to be very accommodating to this traveler's needs. Bed is comfortable with very soft sheets, room has a window air conditioner, and the bathroom is private. BTW, awesome water pressure in the shower! No bathtub in this set up. Shelving and other cabinetry in the bathroom afford adequate space for one's toiletries. A basket inside and outside the room is available for any forgotten items like toothbrushess, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. A generous dresser and wardrobe offer up ample space for clothing.
Breakfasts were very tasty and just the right amount of food.
An outdoor seating area is peaceful with padded chair cushions, views of busy birds in their feeders, and bug spray!
A fridge with soft drinks and bottled water is available for guests to use. Jeannine was very helpful to offer up directions and or advice for restaurants and things to do.
We had a great dinner at an Irish pub just over a mile away called 'Playwright'...the portions of food there are very generous! Also had lunch at 'Bar' which is a great pizza/beer brewery. Had dinner at 'Sage' and it was just fair with nice water views.
My only advice to fellow travelers would be: the inn is a little hard to spot because there is no signage, so believe your GPS! There is a rather steep dip in the driveway to the road so take it slow. Our room was close to roadside and the traffic noise is a bit loud though running the air conditioner at night did offset the sound quite a bit. If you are super sensitive to noise, maybe a room in the back of the house would be a better fit.

“This B&B is a wonderful oasis.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2011

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at A Touch of Ireland. The hosts are warm and welcoming as is the decor. The Cork room that I stayed in was so cozy and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was a culinary delight. Jeannine and Michael could not have been more pleasant. If you are planning a trip to the New Haven area I strongly recommend this gem of a place.
