We've tried a couple of times to get to Sally's or Pepe's and are put off by the long lines. We end up at Abate's, just down the street, and I wanted to give them a shout as a destination itself, not just an alternative when you can't get in down the street. The pizza is fantastic, the pasta is great and plentiful, they have a great antipasto, and the service people are friendly and attentive. They're also right next to Libby's, the great pastry place on Wooster St.
Try Abate's for itself -- definitely go there if you hate the lines down the street.
