“Great Food at a Great Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

After a wonderful and exhausting 2 1/2 hours at the Yale Art Gallery, I really needed to relax and eat. What a treat to discover Zinc, just 2 blocks away. While I wouldn't call the restaurant quiet, it is possible to have a conversation there and not be drowned out by other diners or loud music. The service was attentive and not intrusive. But most importantl, the lunch I had was wonderful. A salmon BLT came with a huge amount of smoked salmon (really a half sandwich would have been more than adequate) with included greens that were also abundant. And it all came to $12.00! I'm planning a return visit....

“Great pizza & a fun atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

A place to wind down at the end of the day. Fun pizza menu, great cocktails, solid waitstaff ( Stiles was great). Indoor and outdoor seating, good music. A comfortable place to be with fiends or alone

“Creative New American”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

Went here for dinner during Yale Commencement Weekend. It's a long and fairly narrow space but we had a good table (for 5) that gave us sufficient privacy. Had the steamed dumplings, gravlax and lettuce wraps with braised beef for starters. All very tasty with the first and third obviously Asian-inspired and the second a riff on a standard Scandi dish. The main courses were even more impressive. I was blown away by the pan roasted barramundi with mushroom risotto!. We also got gnocchi, grilled chicken, soba noodles and salmon: all well done and tasty. All in all, a memorable meal paired with a tasty Pinot Noir from Oregon.

“Amazing Restaurant!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

We were going to be in New Haven, and decided to have dinner at the Zinc Restaurant.
The atmosphere was inviting & cozy. The menu was so varied, and everything looked delicious, that it was difficult to make a decision. I ordered the scallops & quinoa which was superb.
My husband ordered the duck, and my daughter ordered the grilled salmon. We also shared the three-cheese sampler, (Purple Haze, Chocolate Goat, Belmster aged Gouda). Yum, yum!!
For dessert, we had the Tiramisu. If you are ever in New Haven, you absolutely have to have dinner here!!

“Outstanding price-fix menu, great service, no hesitation in recommending”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

We had a business dinner for four at this restaurant, which was very close to my hotel. It was outstanding, uniformly. Every dish was delicious and perfectly done. It might be a *tad* expensive, but it was worth it. The steak was superb!
