Surely one of the best pizzas in New Haven. Fast moving lines. Quick service. But, if you have the time, there is no place like Sally's. Sally's is the best anywhere. Pepe's used to be. But Pepe's has become a small chain. There are too many different bakers. It is inconsistent. Modern on the other hand is consistently good. But, not quite as good as Sally's.
Probably better than Frank Pepe's and Sally's.
Very good NH pizza, but falls short of Pepe's and my underdog favorite, Bar. Why? Plain and simple. The brick oven here produces a plainer, more workmanlike crust than the magic that comes out of the coal ovens at other NH institutions. The Red Sox memorablia loses them points as well. :)

One of the tops. New Haven local's favorite (as opposed to that other touristy place) Try the eggpant garlic, make sure it's hot!
