“Wonderful pizza and good people!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

We eat at Sally's and I love their pizza. It looks like a hole-in-the-wall place but the food is excellent. One word of caution either go early, or be prepared to wait, especially on the weekends and when Yale is in session.

“Who's Better than Sally?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

Some people say Pepe's. Some people say Sally's. I say Pepe's. But it's close, real close, and I know plenty of folks that say Sally's.

“Worth the wait!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

Sally's is a New Haven institution. Part of the fun is going to Wooster Street and waiting in line. Once in, you won't be disappointed. The pizza is delicious, the crust thin and the atmosphere appealing.

“Formerly Wonderful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

We've lived near New Haven for twelve years and have delightedly prowled the pizza joints to find the best. At one time, this was Sally's. In fact, until two months ago when we last ate there, it was the only place we'd go for pizza after exploring all the other excellent choices. We did this because even with the long lines, and the equally long wait for the pies, the slightly burned, thin-crust pizza was delectable.

No more. The pizza is still good, but not great, and certainly no longer worth the wait. Anyone going to Sally's can expect to be there for a minimum of three hours start to finish.

Other reviews have mentioned the negative qualities of Sally's so there's no need to repeat them, but one feels sorrow at the disappointment rendered by a formerly wonderful pizza place.

Maybe they'll improve again. For old time's sake, we'll try one more time, but with trepidation.

“YUM!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

The best of New Haven Pizza's are Sally's, Modern, Pepe's and BAR. Sally's is cheesy and delicious, thin crust, and flavorful. If the Clinton's love Sally's, you know it cannot be bad!
