“Excellent room and excellent service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

The Study at Yale is everything a boutique hotel needs to be. It's clean, comfortable, and friendly. It's very centrally located, and in a safe area of town, within the Yale campus. The rooms are spacious, with iPod docking stations, and beautiful views of the university if you're lucky. The gym is well equipped, though not spectacular. Breakfast was excellent, with cooked to order items instead of a standard buffet. All of the staff were friendly, corteous, and efficient. I was sad that I only spent one night at this hotel, but I will certainly come back if I have another reason to come to New Haven.

I always stay at the Study when visiting clients at Yale on business. My latest visit last week was incredible as the staff went out of their way to help me out of a pretty rough health predicament. The rooms are very clean, the staff is extra attentive, incredibly kind and the restaurant is great. I will ALWAYS stay here when visiting New Haven.

Really enjoyed my business stay here. Staff were very attentive during our meetings and the food was excellent. Loved the Penthouse location for drinks as the sun set. Fun motif matches the campus. Enjoyed walking around the area near The Study. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

I love this hotel. It is very stylish and has excellent amenities in the rooms -- iPod dock, bathrobes... but what I really like are the sharp pencils in a cup on the desk facing the window. And then there is the coffee (or espresso) in the (actually!) comfortable lobby, filled with books and magazines. The restaurant also serves wonderful food.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing Chapel Street -- more interesting view than the back side.

Made a reservation and upon arrival was told they over booked and moved us to another hotel. They never called us nor asked permission to do so. The staff said they were no managers on duty she was left with instructions to send us elsewhere. I was raving mad and no one cared less. Awful feeling being from out of town and not knowing where your being sent.

This is a modern, well-appointed and trendy hotel. Lounge music prevails. The rooms are minimalist, very white and practical. Some guests might find it soul-less, but others will enjoy its club-like atmosphere. It is situated on a main drag with plenty of restaurants and bars around, and of course very conveniently located for anyone visiting Yale University. I'll stay here again next time.

Recently stayed at The Study while attending a wedding at lovely Lighthouse Point, combined with Yale immersion weekend (campus, museums, bookstores). I travel extensively for both business & pleasure and was completely delighted. Special everything: bedding, mattress, room decor, lobby, service, valet, fast elevators, great views from rooms, comfy but luxurious bathroom -- and extraordinary food, including perfect room service. The apple-cinnamon-honey-caramel homemade doughnuts are a near-religious experience. Location on Yale campus very convenient. Lively atmosphere but peaceful too. Only serious concern: noise level from bar across Chapel Street is loud if facing front, even on top floors.
