If you can afford at least $300 a night (before parking or any food) this is the place to stay in New Haven. The desk staff are eager to please, and the atmosphere is cozy casual. Sometimes the lobby fills up with exuberant people as this is a popular place for events, so don't be fooled by the library look. It's a very popular and busy place. But the rooms are quiet, the beds are heaven, and the restaurant offers a wonderful American healthy upscale menu. This is one of my consistently favorite places to stay, but I wince at paying that much for just a night's sleep and a shower...
