My experience with the staff was pretty consistent with what I know of Omni customer service. I was there with a group and had to check people into 10 different rooms. The front desk agent was excellent. She was quick, positive, helpful and even a little humorous. I wish I would have gotten her name, but she has curly brown hair. The decor is pretty traditional- dark woods, elaborate pattern drapes, brass/gold accents. I personally prefer something a little more modern, but it was very nice and well-kept for the most part. I should also mention Inlove the flavored water that is provided in the lobby daily. The sleeping room was slightly worn if you look really closely. Including the bathtub was peeling and there were stains in several places on the carpet. The carpet stains might be due to their pet friendly policy. The bathroom amenities were very basic. People want namebrand products these days- step it up Omni! Nonetheless, the bed was very comfortable. I even ordered a get fit kit but got a little grossed out when I considered they might not have cleaned the mat and stretch bands in the bag. So chose not to use them. We had a catered luncheon for the group and our server was excellent as well, very attentive and helpful and the food was delicious. A lot of vegetarian options and great tiramisu and chocolate mouse cake. A few of us had a drink on the 19th floor at John Davenport's and while the bartender was a little abrasive at first she seemed to warm up and was very knowledgeable about the wine list. It was a pleasant experience until a very large and very loud group invaded our quiet space. As the title states, this is a classic Omni because of the positive customer service and classic because this hotel is probably more appealing for a more conservative and older traveler.
