“Good Food, Great Dinners, Great Community Living Room Vibe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We live about 6 blocks from the "Market" and it is our usual haunt for Saturday lunch between our son's activities. The owners and Staff could not be friendlier, there is always something tempting to eat. Friday and Saturday night dinners offer great quality food without the "scene" and offer BYOB.

We've also catered several family and holiday parties from the Market and their catering is second to none. They take care of every detail!

“premium prices but sub par ingredients”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

I tried it out for the first time a few weeks back for brunch. Despite having a cozy atmosphere, food was mediocre at best and I was disappointed that they serve FAKE maple syrup instead of the real stuff (even though everyone's making it and prices are at all time low)..they even charge +$ 4 for a orange juice which they claim to be fresh...it was the FURTHEST thing from fresh - it was clearly Tropicana or some other brand..cloudy, nothing like fresh squeezed which I make frequently using different oranges - even watered down, it wouldnt have been...conclusion: cozy atmosphere, far away (unless you live in Silvermine), OK breakfasts..but clearly they're all about profit- cutting costs by using cheap eggs, fake maple syrup and regular orange juice...nothing original, organic, special about the food which would command these prices..even for New Canaan!...if you're gonna charge premium rates, better use premium ingredients! Elm is pricey but has awesome and unique brunches..pain quotiden is also good and consistent..

“Great neighborhood Restsurant that allows you to BYOB!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013 via mobile

A deli during the day, that transforms into a 4 star restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights. The menu is varied, something for everyone. The chef will make a large Caesar salad to share and make an appetizer into a delicious dinner. We brought champagne the last time we were there and they even had an ice bucket and champagne glasses!

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

A great neighborhood breakfast and lunch location. The food is excellent, we love the ambience and the staff could not be friendlier. They know their customers by name and go out of the way to take care of you. Excellent.

“Excellent staff, excellent food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

It's like really being out in the country! A real country store/deli vibe. Directly across from the Silvermine Artists' Colony. On the smallish side, seating-wise, but certainly enough for their volume of business. Great for a casual breakfast or brunch. Nothing "over the top" about the menu, but totally excellent offerings. Try the paninis & wraps. You won't go away hungry. Try to grab one of the two tables outside. Really nice out there.
