Beautiful property, lovely room (dove porch #208) owner very nice over the phone but....next morning at continental breakfast we arrived at 10am (the letter left w/ our room key said breakfast was available until 11am). Staff arrived about 10 minutes later, ignored us and proceeded to make themselves toasted bagels as they removed breakfast items (starting with orange juice and coffee) and did not ask us if we were done. we were in the middle of breakfast and had planned on having coffee on the wrap around porch. we felt so rushed and almost pushed out that we did not finish eating breakfast, gathered out things and left. we have stayed in a number of bed and breakfasts and have never encountered something like this before. hopefully it was a fluke, we notified the owner via e-mail but received no reply and decided to let others be aware of our experience

A lovely treat, traveling on business, I found this slice of heaven, with reasonable rate which vilified my expense account manager, plus a continental breakfast included really helped my daily allowance!!!
I have re booked for future visits, and will be back again and again.
Managers cocktails at arrival is a splendid touch, in front of a warm fire!!!
Thanks Maples for a great experience, be back soon!!!

On a whim I decided to stay at the Maples Inn rather than a chain hotel closer to I-95 during a one-night business trip through Connecticut. My stay was a real treat: the "lobby" (really more like a sitting room) smelled wonderful when I entered and the fire was crackling invitingly. The innkeeper was exceedingly pleasant and happily gave me a restaurant reservation for dinner. There was complimentary wine set out for guests to enjoy.

The rooms are decorated in a sweet country style, and there are several nice touches. There were also a few modern amenities I don't always expect at inns or B&Bs, including a hair dryer and cable television. I also got a good high-speed wireless signal, though it required a password and I never got around to asking what it was.

Breakfast was very nicely laid out with cereal, bagels, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, fruit, etc. I had a delicious blueberry muffin and enjoyed the New York Times in the breakfast room. I wish I hadn't had to rush off to a meeting -- I would have been happy ensconced there all day.

The innkeepers graciously allowed me to check out an hour late (after returning from my morning meeting), and they were both delightful once again upon my departure. All in all it was a fun, restful respite from the normal business travel routine.

Warm, beautifully decorated, especially for the holidays,
fireplace lit, music in the background, and complimentary
glass of wine after a long day at work!!!
Sounds to good to be true???
Well there exists a stylish slice of heaven, located minutes from downtown New Canaan, named The Maples Inn!
The staff is attentive to every detail, the rooms are beautifully appointed with antiques ( and reproductions) and welcoming,
WIFI high speed throughout the main house.
Breakfast is fresh, the coffee delicious.
I will definately be back!!
