We were pleasantly surprised that this Hyatt Place was so lovely. My husband stayed at a Hyatt Place Hotel in Ft Lauderdale FL recently and this hotel is of the same caliber. Friendly staff, very clean, well-designed and nicely modernized. Whoever designed the rooms did a very nice job. Love the bathroom and bed was very comfortable. The GM greeted us at breakfast the next morning and gave us good directions/advice for continuing our journey. Breakfast was good with nice variety of menu choices. This was a great beginning for our vacation in New England.

Our check in clerk Patricia was so friendly and made us feel so welcome it started us on the path to a great stay. Room was extremely clean. The 24/7 cafe was good the service was great and the food was okay. The free breakfast was good and checkout was easy. The pool looked great but I didn't get to try it.

We go to Mystic for one night stays with our kids several times a year and were able to book this hotel at the last minute. We were booked at the Holiday Inn Express, but stayed there before and didn't like it very much. So, were glad to get the Hyatt Place when a room opened up. We have stayed at the Hyatt Place by Mohegan Sun and would have preferred it if it had been available.

The hotel is in a good location near Old Mistick Village and Mystic Seaport. It's also about 25 minutes from Mohegan Sun, which we tend to visit as well on these weekends.

One of the things we look for in a hotel is a pool for the kids. My husband didn't know when he booked that this pool was outdoor. Fortunately, the pool is heated and the weather was nice so the kids were able to swim. Unfortunately, there was a large wedding party staying at the hotel and the pool was extremely crowded with people that had been and were drinking. They were rough-housing, which was really unsafe for the children present.

My husband noticed that the manager was aware of the fact that this party was loud and was trying to keep them under control so as not to bother the rest of the customers. He wasn't aware of what was going on at the pool.

We were very glad that we didn't hear them coming back from their evening of partying and we all slept very well. We like the room layout as there is a small partition where the bed is and there is a sleeper sofa that worked well for our kids. The room was smaller than others in the hotel and only had a shower. We prefer a tub/shower combo.

The breakfast goes til 10, which is a plus on weekends. The offerings are standard fare, but adequate. There is Starbucks coffee in the lobby as well. The layout of the lobby with the tables and front desk is congested, but the look is nice.

They offer some things that you may borrow, which we didn't try, but thought that was a nice touch-from chargers to yoga mats and curling irons, etc.

We would return to this hotel in nice weather, but would opt for a hotel with an indoor pool for cooler months.

Room Tip: We liked being on the first floor down near the pool.

What a pleasure to have a pleasant stay! Every staff member attentive and helpful. Such a stylish room i was not expecting...everything you could want to be comfortable! Well designed. Only negative would be the side entrances not glamorous, pool area a bit dull but the room quality makes up for it. Nicer than suites in Boston hotels!

Quick getaway weekend; chose Mystic for the casinos, back roads drive, home , through Westerly and RI vineyards. Picked the Hyatt off Hotels.com ......great discounted rate. Hotel staff was courteous and welcoming, excellent Location for shopping, the aquarium, the Seaport.
Starbucks cafe, room service, simple bkfast each morning, heated outdoor pool......shuttle to casinos, cute boutiques in old Mystic, ......what's not to like!
The rooms are comfortable...especially the pillows......the mattresses are hard and that would be my only complaint. The rooms are equipped with a fridge and sink, workstations, small but comfy bath/ shower.
You aren't staying at the Ritz, but you will be pleasantly suprised........have fun!!

Great looking hotel, pretty clean. I liked the free printing and free Starbucks in the lobby. However it is all a facade. The Internet is slower than dial up, the bathroom layout is horrendous and the staff had the nerve to double bill me for a Chapstick I paid for in cash (tacked it on to my room bill too!). Stay away!
