Just returned from our first night away with twin two-year-olds., we chose the residence inn because it has suites. We had our own room, and the twns slept in pack n plays in the living room. The bathroom was off our room (a big plus so we wouldn't wake them), and there was also a small kitchen with all the appliances you could use.
Positives:
The setup/suite style was great
Very nice looking, kept up well in all areas
Right next to mystic aquarium and village, 5 minutes from seaport
We were given 2 fans and toothbrushes at our request with no problem.
Lots of exits
Negatives:
The pool and hottub were closed for unexplained reasons. I purposely chose a hotel with an indoor pool because of the kids. However, you were allowed to use the outdoor pool at the comfort inn literally a few steps a way
The free breakfast was very plentiful, including eggs, toasts, waffles, and cereals - but it didnt taste good. The pancakes were crispy.
The Ac was just horrible. I wanted it to blow constantly to give the kids some white noise, but instead it came on and off every 5 minutes and ended with a big PSHHHH that we heard in our bedroom. It definitely woke me often. There was a fan setting, but it didn't just stay on. There is a motion sensor in the room that will shut the fan off if no one moves (like when sleeping).
There was a big tear in the sofa cushion, some cobwebs/dust on the ceiling, and the sheets were very rough.
I would still stay here again though because the suite option can't be beat.
