“Excellent staff, clean rooms.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

I stayed here for two nights in June 2012. The staff was very accomadating of our needs and even made sure we had connecting rooms. They also gave us a late check out at no extra cost. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Stayed here to visit family in the Groton/Mystic area. It happened to be a weekend for the outdoor art festival in Mystic. The hotel was pretty packed - kind of hard to find parking at times, and the breakfast/meal area was too small for the crowds. The staff was up to the task, but the limited space made the mornings sort of harried. The rooms were clean, but I'll bet this hotel handles a lot of traffic - just a bit worn. Not bad, but not the best. I would stay here again for a visit. This is a very convenient location - good access to town and the highway. Only about 45 minutes to great RI beaches.

Room Tip: There is a basketball court on one wing of the hotel; it didn't bother us, but finicky guests ma...

This was the best vacation we have ever taken, mostly due to the fantastic service given to us by the staff at this hotel. Our room was wonderful - huge compared to what I had expected. Very clean, comfortable, and bright. The breakfast buffet was excellet - so many choices, not what I expected for a continental breakfast - this was in no way a regular muffin/bagel breakfast. The meal in the evening was unexpected and really good. The indoor pool and jacuzzi was a great way to wind down each night, most nights it was empty, but plenty of towels and the water was a good temp. The staff was all so helpful and nice, I had a problem in which I needed a computer asap for work, and they were nice enough to let me in the office not once but twice to use the manager's computer. We ran out of towels one night at 10 PM, and the front desk got new ones with us the minute we asked. Everyone was so helpful in answering all of my many questions about beaches, etc. The sound was quiet every night, we never heard people in the halls, etc. We were so happy with our stay and really didn't want to leave when it was over!! We will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

This was a nice place, and clean, but it seemed like an older property. The staff was helpful and friendly. The thing that we really liked about it was the continental breakfast -- and dinner during the weeknights. They offered a light dinner on Mon-Thurs. that helped us keep this vacation lower-cost. Most mealtimes,it was very busy, especially mornings, but when a MickyD's breakfast for four costs about $25, it was worth the crowds. Our room had a microwave, frig/freezer, sink and a very small (for 2) eating area. Also, very easy to ask for and get extra towels in the room. There was a strong smell of chlorine on the first floor due to the pool, which we didn't use. The one drawback was the HVAC system would buzz like an alarm clock around 3-4AM every morning-- we let the hotel staff know on the comments card. Hopefully they fixed it.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor have a stronger "pool smell" -- aka chlorine.

Good location to see Mystic. Service was good. Rooms are old, rundown and make you want to leave your shoes on. The furniture is really stained ( at least in our two rooms) and one wonders if the owner is too cheap to make a $200 room at least sort of resemble such a room. Skipped the breakfast buffet but looked mobbed and skimpy on food. Pool looked crowded. This is obviously a well visited property and it's time for a renovation. Also, the wifi was pretty slow.

It was a last minute decision to visit Mystic for the first time. We wanted to be able to find something pet friendly, clean and affordable. Loved the "comforts of home" while being away...All major appliances available and in good working order. Two flatscreen TVs; one in private bedroom area, the other in the living area (sofa which converts into a full size sleeper). Nice private bathroom with separate sink area. Very clean. Great location -- minutes away from Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Village. The only drawback is the $100 pet fee...We only stayed one night, so the $100 fee seemed like a lot. BUT...we were told it was a $100 one time fee for as long as the stay..Next time we go back there...and we will, we'll at least stay two nights instead of one! An important tip! This Residence Inn is at a great location...so great that rooms fill up quickly for weekend stays....You should book as far in advance as possible (3-4 weeks)...Friday nights seem to be easy to get, but Saturdays are almost always filled up. P.S. Free continental breakfast with make your own waffles....

My husband and 2 daughters stayed at another chain a block away from the Residence Inn and it was ok,.
We decided to stay in Mystic for an extra night and choose to try Priceline...lucky us we got the Residence Inn!!
My girls were soooooo excited and didn't want to leave the next day.
I think we all felt the room was the best we ever stayed in and it was truly a home away from home feel.
Everything was lovely.
I'd absolutely stay at this Residence Inn again and another elsewhere.
