My wife, our daughter and I stayed at the Mermaid Inn while we were exploring nearby Connecticut College. The house is beautifully decorated and our rooms were very comfortable. The breakfasts served in the gazebo overlooking the Mystic River were delicious and the scrumptious pastriies waiting in the dining room every evening had us skipping deserts when we went out to eat to make sure we could enjoy them.

Josephine is a delightful hostess and made us feel right at home. I am already looking forward to our next visit to Mystic so we can enoy her hospitality again. We have stayed at many Bed and Breakfasts throughout New England and the Mermaid Inn is definitely one of the nicest that we have found.

My husband and I had the best birthday weekend at the Mermaid Inn B&B. This lovely victorian home is imaculate. Our room was very cozy and comfortable. We loved having breakfast on the beautiful gazibo that had a view of the river. Josephine is a very warm peron and a wonderful cook. She never intruded but was very accomadating to our needs. We loved coming home to the wonderful snacks she left out for us. She also let you choose the time you wanted to eat breakfast. We loved rocking on the porch in between excersions. We also were given a goodie bag for our trip back to NJ. that encluded some of the receipes we enjoyed during our stay. We will definately be back.

  • Liked — Upon arival to find a stocked refridgerator with cold water was like heaven on earth
  • Disliked — Our room was imaculate but a little small

This inn is a wonderful alternative to the other larger hotels in Mystic. Set in an old Victorian home, the Mystic Inn is run by friendly innkeepers who offer many extras that make the stay more special. Although our room was quite small, it was well appointed. The bathroom was marble, the bed was comfortable, and there were chocolates and drinks in the room. Breakfasts were amazing!!!! They kept us full until the early evening and were delicious! We will definitely stay here again!

Spent a long weekend at The Mermaid Inn with my husband. We both loved it! Perfect location, easy walk to the very active town of Mystic and to the Mystic Seaport. After seeing how busy downtown is, we very happy that we stayed a couple of blocks away at this peaceful B&B. The breakfasts were over the top wonderful!! We stayed in the Blue Room which was lovely. Fridge in room with chocolates, water and soda. Very nice bathroom. Snacks left out for guests in the afternoon then at night. We were sent home with a "to go" bag of goodies. We will most definately return.

  • Liked — Great location.

We just returned from a long weekend in Mystic, CT. Our stay at the Mermaid Inn was everything we had hoped for and more! My husband and I stayed in the "Blue Room" for three nights. It was exceptionally clean, comfortable and the three course breakfast was amazing.

The Mermaid Inn is walking distance from both downtown Mystic and the Mystic Seaport Museum.

If you are looking for a quiet getaway in New England, you should book a stay at the Mermaid Inn. We are SO glad we did.

Enough cannot be said about this place. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday weekend, and we were in absolute bliss. The owner, Josephine, has an impeccable talent for making her guests feel special. If you really want "a slice of heaven", then this is THE place to get it. Get away from it all, head over to Mystic and stay at The Mermaid Inn for an unforgettable experience!

Josephine and her mermaids have created an oasis for traveler's looking to spend some time in Mystic. The inn's rooms are beautifully decorated and decadently comfortable. The breakfasts every morning rival any brunch I have ever had in New York City's finest establishments. Josphine also leaves plenty of snacks for travelers to enjoy in their rooms when they return for the evening. The Inn is in the perfect location between downtown and the Seaport and Aquarium. So for those you who like leisurely strolls, no car is necessary. For those who like holding up in the room all weekend, no noisy traffic or people keeping you up late or interrupting your blissful slumber!! If you are staying at the Inn and the weather permits, breakfast on the gazebo is delightful, with a beautiful view of the water! We were truly touched by all of the care Josephine put into every detail of our experience at the Mermaid Inn!! Definitely #1 on our list of places to spend a romantic, relaxing, one-of-a-kind vacation!!! As another happy customer suggested, if ever there was a place that would lure the mermaids out of the sea, Josephine's Mermaid Inn would be the spot!!

  • Liked — Breakfast on the Gazebo seems divinely inspired
  • Disliked — Will be a few more hangers next time as there were not enough in the room to hang up clothes for the weekend
