We booked two nights in Mystic--when we arrived the check-in was fine-very friendly staff. We stayed on the 2nd floor--big mistake-lots of walking up and down stairs since the inn in shaped like a "J" . Flushed the toilet when we got to room but tank failed to fill up-contacted front desk to send someone to fix it-was fixed aprox 5 hrs later--but at least it finally flushed. Hair dryer only worked for 1-2 min and then turned off-guess it shorted out-kept doing reset but to no avail. Didn't bother to contact front desk again-let hair dry naturally. After housekeepng cleaned room for our second night found that they didn't clean coffee maker (still had coffee in pot and grinds in basket) and no new coffee for next morning, no facecloths for next day. Their ad say alarm clock in each room-we had none. Their breakfast was another poor experience. Juice machine failed to work 2nd day. Eggs and sausage were cold -had to heat in mico. All in all I would never stay here again--I booked because of the dollar value !50 one night 50 next and the closeness to everything in Mystic -but the experience was unexceptable.

Room Tip: stay on 1st floor!! No elevators that I could find.

This past weekend my family went to Mystic, Conneticut to see the Aquarium and the Seaport. We wanted to stay close to the attractions. Most of the hotels were expensive, but this one came in at a reasonable price. I was happy to find a clean lobby with a very nice woman at the front desk. The outside stairwells and outside walk were a little dirty, but the room was clean. The bathroom could use some refurbishing, rust stains on the tub; AC was slow to cool. The continental breakfast was average, but it gets your day to a good start. It was easy on/off to Interstate 95 and about 10 minutes to the Mystic attractions. Also, close to casinos. To sum up, it was a decent hotel for the price we paid.

If you want to stay in a filthy dive then book into the Quality Inn Mystic. We stayed in room 187 the first night. It was obvious someone had pissed the bed and the linen hadn't been changed, we couldn't use the air conditioner due to dirt piled in the top of it. We complained and were moved to another room that was relatively clean. The third world continental breakfast was appalling. Tables were filthy, only one side of the toaster worked unless you held it down, and they have never heard of tea. Everyone during breakfast was looking around to see if we were on AFV. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The weekend rates are also ridiculous considering what you get and the state of the place. Online pictures look good, however, once you get past the lobby look-out.

Room Tip: Make sure you actually go and see the room before you book it.

We stayed 3 nights in room # 111, my sister and daughter shared another room. First, overall the room was clean, which is important. The bathroom, had rust coming out of the ceiling, and well worn around floors and baseboards, but there was this crazy exposed old fixture with wires coming out of it, on the wall...have no idea what that was. The phone in the room did not work, they said it would be fixed the next day, it was replaced the 3rd night. The coffee maker was broken, and the microwave did not work. The fridge had left over food in it. The room was small, I had a wheel chair and a walker with me, because of health problems, and it made the room a tight fit, but at $62.00 for wed./thurs. nights but the price was was very reasonable, until Friday night, when it jumped to $152.00. The bath tub backed up, on Sat. morning, it was still backed up when we checked out that day. I could not used the shower, because of safety issues,we were told that they only had one handicapped room, and it was reserved, they should consider investing in one more handicapped room, especially for the summer months. The other room, # 114, was a king size suite, with full sized pull out couch in the living area, very spacious, and everything worked in this room!!!. I know, why not just switch to another king size, but we needed two beds, and pull out couches are not always very comfortable. The staff were quite nice, and really tried to remedy the mishaps, the hotel had new owners, and I think that they are trying to repair things and get everything up to speed. The "contintental breakfast" on thurs./fri. a.m. was nice, and plentiful, the hot breakfast on sat. morning was a nice send off. I would tell people to stay at this hotel, it is so very close to attractions, and they seem to be on top of everything.
I would stay here again.

Room Tip: If they have the King size suite avaliable for the same price as a standard room, take it! The extra...

I made this reservation before reading the reviews. They were somewhat disheartening. My wife and I had a king suite. The room was a HUGE living room, dining room, & wet bar. There was a separate dressing room with a full vanity, a full bathroom with a full vanity, bath and shower, and a large bedroom with a king size bed. Both the living room and bedroom had flat panel screen TV's. The free breakfast was serviceable and the ambience exceeded the numerous previous reviews. This is not "The Ritz". but if you plan to spend the majority of your stay outside the hotel it is a quiet, secure, and clean base of operations.

Summer is Prime Time in Mystic, CT, and with virtually everything - high-priced, lower priced - sold out, we were lucky to find a room at the Quality Inn (formerly Best Western). Not that it was so inexpensive, either. The room was clean and well-prepared, though unattractive, not well-lit. We only stayed one night, so it served its purpose adequately. Maybe we shouldn't complain -
beauty comes at a price.

Room Tip: Try to stay near the front entrance, whatever floor; long walk in halls to elevators, otherwise.
