“A quiet little inn offering the comfort of home...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

My husband and I and our 2 children stayed here in early July. We are so thrilled to have found such a gem. The inn was quiet, the staff were friendly and helpful... we needed an extra blanket in the evening and they walked it down to our room!

Our room had 2 double beds, non-effiecieny. VERY roomy, VERY, VERY clean! Fantastic!

The pool area is quite large and offers a shower room/bath with shampoo and soap for before and after use.

The grounds are beautiful, flowers and shrubs...very neat.

The continental breakfast is served in their breakfast room which is adorable. Plenty to offer!

We look forward to staying again next year, a great place to stay!

Out stay was very relaxing. We had two rooms, side by side. We used the Adirondack chairs in the lawn as our “common space”. The side we were on was a dead-end street so it was very quiet. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was very good with homemade breakfast cake every day. All the staff is very pleasant and helpful. They gave great recommendations for dinner and had discount tickets for the Aquarium and the Old Seaport. We walked downtown since it was less than a mile and then didn’t have to worry about parking in the busy downtown area. I would highly recommend this for your stay in Mystic.

Stayed here last week and the Taber Inne was a very nice find... The innkeeper was just lovely and very sweet to my family and made us feel welcome.... The grounds are beautiful and the options for different housing is many.... The rooms were spotless and the beds were comfortable. It was located across from the Mystic Market where they have great sandwiches and specialty items,... and one can get a good cup of coffee... the location was convenient to the seaport and aquarium and the shopping area... We searched tripadvisor for an inn for a quick get-a-way in Ct and we were pleasantly surprised by this wonderful find.....

This family-owned and run Inne is lovely. The rooms are very clean and well-appointed, the beds are freshly made with luxurious linens and v-e-r-y comfortable, and the family/owners couldn't be kinder or more considerate. I have stayed here for 2 ten-day visits (January and July) for the past two years, and have had a wonderful experience each time. During this last trip in July, my husband brought me a beautiful bouquet of roses when he joined me - but he forgot to bring a vase. Maggie immediately found one for me to use so we could enjoy them in our room during our stay. I've stayed in different rooms and each one was special. The Wi-Fi was reliable and free. The buffet breakfast included heavenly homemade treats. This family-owned Inne is a great place to relax and enjoy the CT shore. Highly recommend The Taber Inne and Suites.

I have stayed at the outstanding Taber Inne in scenic Mystic, Connecticut for ten day visits at a time - in both January and July - for the past two years. Four ten-day visits and each day and night as a guest in this family-owned Inn was pitch-perfect. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed with fireplaces and dining tables. All amenities and bedding are clean and fresh; the bathrooms are spacious. Each room has its own balcony. Your every need is taken into account quickly. The internet service is reliable. A sumptuous buffet breakfast is included each morning. Lovely servings, too. The owners go way beyond the norm to make your visit memorable. Highly recommend The Taber Inne. Enjoy!

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent. Have stayed in many different rooms and they all have their own charms.

Stayed for one night in between traveling from Philadelphia to Cape Cod. Could have stayed longer! Mystic, CT has lots of great things to see- and the Taber Inne made our time in Mystic wonderful.

The staff- in person and on the phone- were very helpful, warm and knowledgeable.

The room itself was comfortable, clean and in perfect order.

Breakfast was provided and was more than adequate! Cereal, hot cereal, juice, coffee, tea, muffins, toast, English muffins, fresh fruit, etc, etc, etc!

I believe we will be staying at the Taber Inne again as we explore Mystic more!

This was our second stay at the Taber Inne and our only wish was that we could have stayed longer! The grounds were well kept, bright and colorful with flowers everywhere. The accommodations were excellent as always; the floors and bedrooms, bathrooms and toilets were in perfect order. We stayed in one of the suites and it was beneficial for us to have the extra room of a full kitchen, living area and two bedrooms, three bathrooms!

We found the location to be perfect and we walked all the way to Mystic Seaport, probably too far for visitors with children, but we had a great pizza at Angela's on the way back to the hotel. Mystic is such an awesome place and this Inne has the best of everything! The proprietors are on-site and this is extremely beneficial. Upon check-in we were personally walked to our room with a quick tour of the grounds along the way. Comfortable adirondacks and chairs and tables were on the lawn and deck areas, and it makes it easy to lean back and just relax here! Everywhere we looked was neat and clean. The breakfast room was wonderful, and every guest was personally greeted by Margaret and other family members who run the establishment. The pool was perfect, too! The pool area is not only an indoor facility, which makes it very convenient for families for entertainment for the kiddos during inclement weather, but the Inne is also not so large that the pool area is crowded. We had the pool to ourselves for a good while. AND the changing area was just wonderful----clean and spacious with everything you needed!

For us, the best part of the visit was seeing that Margaret is still running the place. Back in 1979 we "visited" this Inne because this same Margaret saw fit to help us out of a housing pickle; my husband was in the Navy and the base was too crowded at the time, and it would be several weeks before we could get housing. We shared our predicament with Margaret and she kindly gave us a great bargain on the unit behind what used to be her small souvenir shop. The moral of the story: not only is Taber Inne a great place to stay today, but it is run by a family that cares about the people in the area and that gave a Navy man and his wife a place to live when all the rest of Connecticut seemed to be telling us to keep sleeping at the state park! Even well after 33 years have passed, we will never forget the favor done for us by the Taber Inne and it is the ONLY location we will stay at while vacationing in the Mystic area!

Room Tip: if you can afford the space, go big!
