“Extraordinary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012 via mobile

Unfortunately most of the reviewers don't seem to have a clue about the quality of what they are eating at the oyster club. The creativity and originality and taste the food there puts The oyster club at a level far above any of the other restaurants in a 20 mile radius. We have dinner there at least once a week, and when we occasionally try another restaurant in the area we have always been disappointed and returned to the oyster club For what we consider some of the finest food we have ever. We feel that it is important to go there on the nights when the executive chef, James Wayman, is in charge. Other nights are quite good but so far they do not rise to the level that James regularly produces. It is also a good idea to get there for the first sitting, at 5 o'clock, before the restaurant fills up.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

2nd visit was disappointing. Only 4 in our party, yet we had to wait over 5 minutes for the kitchen to come out with a bowl of soup. The main course was Pork Shoulder (kind of a stew.)The pork was actually left out of my bowl. I had to ask the waitress if I had misunderstood the menu. She brought some to the table, however, it was a bit too late. $28 for a bowl of stew and the main course was missing! Others in our party ordered "Whole Black Fish." It was not cut/cleaned properly and was difficult to eat around the bones. Overpriced meal, and extremely limited menu. I had a hard time finding something I wanted to have. Won't be spending my money there again.

“Lovely Atmosphere and Excellent Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

The staff is very pleasant and very attentive. The restaurant is very clean and you can see into the kitchen. We have been here once for lunch and twice for dinner. The Oyster Club is not your average Joe restaurant. The menu changes daily based on what is in season and what is freshly caught or available from the local farms. For example, menu items have included goat, beef and pork heart pasta sauce, and other non typical items. A regular steak, while very good was $36 without salad or vegetables. You definitely need to check the menu before you good.

“Love it, laid back sophistication.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

Service is excellent, atmosphere is friendly and unique. They change their menu frequently so there is always something new to try. They serve my favorite bottle beers. Just wish the rooftop had opened before Fall. Great spot though!

“Delicious food, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

I don't know what people are complaining about with serving sizes. I couldn't finish my entree. If you want large servings, well, there are plenty of places that cater to that. I prefer high quality food in a lovely setting with excellent service, and they have that here. To each their own. Don't go there if all you want is massive quantities of food. Do go there if you want really good food.
