“Nice for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2007

Booked reservations for Sunday and Monday in June and then discovered we were going to drive straight thru on Saturday so called back but no room for saturday. Called a close hotel and got a room there. After spending the first night at the other hotel we were a little scared about seeing our room at the comfort but we breathed a sigh of relief after we entered the room, much cleaner and the beds were so comfortable. This is not a 4 star hotel but for the price you cannot go wrong at this hotel. Wonderful setting and close to all activites.

My husband & I stayed here on a Saturday night for the Wooden Boat show at the seaport. Theirs was the best price of all the hotels along route 27 and it included a really nice breakfast (loved the make-your-own-waffle station). The room was clean, though the hallway smelled faintly smoky. We had to pin the drapes shut so the sun wouldn't awaken us (and so passers-by on the first floor couldn't see in). The workout room looked sufficient, though I didn't have time to use it.

If you're staying here for the seaport, it's exactly a one-mile walk south (15 minutes). We woke early on Sunday, had breakfast and drove to the seaport by 10:00 and the lot was already filling up. Get there early to secure a parking space. Don't try walking to downtown Mystic (where Mystic Pizza and other shops are) - it's way too far. There's a cute first-run cinema at the I-95 junction. We caught the latest Pixar flick Saturday night & had a blast.

  • Liked — Great price, ample breakfast options
  • Disliked — No shuttle service to the seaport.

A group of us stayed here for one night and nearly everyone said the same thing about the rooms in that they were moldy smelling and dirty. Even the first floor hallway had a strong musty smell !
The bathroom floor looked like it had not been moped in ages proven by the urine stains at the foot of the commode. In addition, the tub needed a good scrubbing. The carpet in the room was eons old and very worn. On the positive side the bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was quite good. Otherwise, I would skip this hotel even at the cheap price (that it is unless these items mentioned above don't concern you...)

My wife and I stayed at the Comfort Inn for our one anniversary weekend after getting engaged in Mystic two years earlier. For the price, we paid $107 (Friday) and $125 (Saturday), the hotel is a great value. The regular king room was nicely-sized, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. There was also a sofa. The only minor quibbles about the room would be that the bathroom lighting could have been brighter and there were no towel racks; there were shelves for the towels under the sink. Customer service was exceptional, both at the front desk and especially at the complementary extended continental breakfast where I saw the staff offering to help and continually replenishing.

The Comfort Inn isn’t a luxury hotel, but it by far, the cheapest nice hotel stay available in a pretty expensive area. By comparison, the Residence Inn, located directly next door was more than twice the cost. A word about location, the hotel is located north of I-95 near the aquarium and Old Mystic Village. The drive to downtown Mystic takes about 5 minutes and there is ample parking on side streets as you approach Main Street.

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights last week. The hotel was clean, staff very friendly. Our room was a good size with a nice size bathroom, everything worked properly.

This is a no frills hotel, but it gets the job done. It is very close to all the stuff to do in Mystic - the aquarium, shopping, and seaport.

The location of this hotel is very convenient to all attractions within the Mystic area and close proximity to major highways. The lobby is large, nicely decorated and the staff could not be friendlier. Check in was flawless even though we arrived before check in time. Our room was a standard king room with a new extremely comfortable pillow top Serta mattress. The room was spotless and the air conditioning was already on so we arrived into a fresh and cool room. There was a microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine, iron and ironing board and hairdryer. The shower had a massage head which worked wonders after a long day seeing the sites. Another nice feature was the curved shower curtain rod that allows extra space in the tub/shower area. It was nice not having the shower curtain blow into the shower area and stick onto you while showering. Housekeeping is very attentive to your needs and gives service with a smile. There was ample parking with plenty of handicapped spaces. All entry doors lock for protection (not that you need it, Mystic seems very safe) and you need your room key to enter the building.
Our overall experience with this hotel was excellent and we would stay here again as opposed to the much more expensive hotels in the area. Good stay for a reasonable price.

  • Liked — Cleanliness and great service and good location
  • Disliked — There was no closet just a free standing wardrobe to hang clothing

My husband and I've stayed here three times in past 3 years, and every single time, service was excellent, free breakfast was excellent, rooms were comfortable, price was reasonable. If you are going to Mystic, I would definitely recommend this place! But please, please don't go to this restaurant near by called the Steak Loft. We didn't have many choices. Ground Round and Friendlies near by. That's it, for restaurants. So we went to this nice looking loft serving BBQ steaks and chicken. At $15.50, I don't think I've ever had such a skimpy, bony chickens in my entire life! But Comfort Inn, it's the best, for the price!
