“Expensive and Horrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

This place does not live up to the reviews posted on its site. It's terrible. I see many good and even some great reviews on here, but in all honesty I have to believe those people have never had fresh New England seafood before. It's the only way I can justify theses positive reviews.
This place has pre portioned cups of clam chowder sitting in a warmer, for god knows how long, in the Styrofoam container. It taste terrible. Worse then out of a can.
With so much great sea food places in the area why anybody would choose to eat here is beyond me.

“Don't miss it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

Make a point to try it. Its out of the downtown but right on the main road. Everything always fresh and very good put certain items can be pricy. Anxious to see what happens with that after Memorial Day.

“Rather dissappointing and very pricey for what you get....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

I visited this place with my sister this past weekend and we were really disappointed in this place. Someone referred it to us in town, but obviously, they were never at Captain Scotts. The lobster rolls were tiny, all claw meat, soft and soggy and sitting in a soggy, buttered hotdog roll. Definitely overdrenched in butter and heartburn city....skip this place and go over to Captain Scotts for the best!

“Fresh seafood - delicious!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Food - delicious & fresh
Great service - our waitress was attentive and friendly
Prices comparative to other clam shacks in the area as well as Newport & Cape Cod

I ordered the hot lobster roll. I must admit that it was delicious but I was bothered by the amount of butter. The roll was drenched and there was a small pool of butter underneath the lobster roll. Next time I would ask for the butter on the side.

Less than 5 minutes from Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Seaport. Had a difficult time finding it on my GPS but was able to follow the directions on their website.
