“Great weekend trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

We went for one weekend in mid-November. It's an easy and convenient drive from Boston. The service at check-in was fantastic, warm and friendly. We had a corner room on the third floor of the main building, very comfortable. The building is older, and the floors are settling, so the room seemed to slant a bit, but that's fine with us. Like others before have written, there are plenty of shops and restaurants in walking distance. The inn is not far to I-95, so the casinos and museums near the Navy Sub Base are easy to get to as well. I would recommend this hotel anyone who wants to stay at a quaint New England inn in the Mystic area.

Mystic provided a fantastic break from hectic Manhattan. The whalers inn is well located, chintzy but very homely. its well located for the town being at the heart of the boutique shops and eateries that cluster either side of the bridge. I had a queen suite which was packed with antiquiy furniture giving it a really quaint feel. a fantastic place for a little R&R.

We arrived at Mystic near the end of our foliage trip and it was a great ending to our trip. We followed Lonely Planet's advice and were not disappointed. The room at the Whaler's Inn was a bit pricey ($175 + tax) but very lovely and had great views of the bridge, a romantic fireplace, cozy bed and huge bathroom. The "continental" breakfast included in the price was larger then any other continental breakfast we had, and was a very nice way to start our day. Location is perfect - right on the main street, where all the shops and restaurants are. All in all - I would definitely recommend.

While on a sightseeing tour of New England, came across lovely Mystic and decided to stay the night. We fould the Whaler's Inn to be clean, comfortable and reasonably priced.

The hotel is within walking distance of many shops, retaurants and bars. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was kind of blah, but that's not we came for anyways.

We stayed here for 2 nights 19/20th October in 1865 House, room 10. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was basic but adequate. The staff were very helpful. It is in a good central location with restaurants in walking distance and has it's own bar and restaurant. I would recommend a stay here in Mystic.

First time at the Whaler's Inn and we will definitely come back for a weekend gataway. Our room was at the Hoxie House, RM 62 and we had a great view of the draw bridge, water and Main St. All the shops, restaurants were within walking distance. The room was great...for the limited time we were actually in our room. Large king size bed, spacious bathroom with jacuzzi tub, attention to detail throughout the room. Staff was very friendly and courteous during check in/out. We drove about 20 minutes to Foxwoods for a little gambling & night life if that's your fancy.I recommend this property highly for a romantic getaway!

Room Tip: Hoxie House with a view of the bridge/water.

My husband & I stayed here for a long weekend in the fall. It was terrific! We stayed in one of the larger rooms with the fireplace. The room was wonderful! We did not call upon the staff at all, but the location was great. We walked to dinners and to the shops. Couldn't have asked for more.
