It was ok! I mean you go to Mystic for the sea life and would expect the aquarium to blow you away, but there was none of that. It was expensive and when you finish you can't help but wonder did you miss something. When I went it was a rainy day which also took away since they do have outside exhibits. We attempted to see the outside exhibits, but there was nothing there. It's rain they live in water why weren't they out? If you're in the area I'd go if oyu have nothing else to do, but don't go out of your way.

“Worst aquarium ever!!”

Waaaaaay too expensive. $22 for adults. Many exibits were empty or shut down for the winter (this was in Oct.). Grumpy workers or exibits were run by volunteers. They were nice, but couldn't answer questions and didn't explain the exibits at all. Dirty, Dark and Boring. Waste of a day.

Don't waste your time or money. I was excited for the aquarium, as I love going to them. But this one just dissappointed all around. First, we got there around 3 and were told the exhibits were shutting down early at 5 for a Halloween party. Ok, that's fine, we figured we'd just see the place quickly. Little did we know, we'd be finished in like 30 minutes! We did the inside exhibits first. They were small and there wasn't much to see. The Amazon exhibit was the coolest one - with bats and tarantulas, but still small. We were finished with the inside exhibits in 15 minutes and figured we'd go outside to see the belugas, dolphins and sea lions. But on our way out, we were told those exhibits were closing early too. Now why didn't anyone tell us those were closing first? We would have made our way over there!! I was so annoyed as I really wanted to see the penguins. So we ended up leaving and had to come back again to see the rest of the exhibits (one good thing is that your tickets are good for 3 consecutive days, but who really needs to go for 3 days when you can finish the place in 30 minutes??). I'm glad we knew it wouldn't take much time. The outside exhibits were pretty tiny too.

This place is completely overpriced for what it is. $22 for an adult? Ridiculous.

We went with our family of 4 children, ages 8 and under. There is no way we would ever pay $95.00 again here!! For being so small, it's amazing they get away with such prices. We thought our little ones would enjoy all the hands on stuff, etc., but really there wasn't much to touch except the stingray tank and they mostly swam in the bottom of the tank so there wasn't much touching to do. We visited a similar, but much nicer aquarium in San Diego and they designed the tank to be only 2-3' deep, so the children could generally touch them. This tank was so deep, even my tall almost 9 yr. old, couldn't reach them. The anemone tank was only look but don't touch- hard for little ones to see all that arm-reachable open water, but unable to touch it.

The seal tank was small and they just sat there. The penguin exhibit was extremely small, probably 10' by 20' and extremely boring. At the St louis Zoo it's FREE to see an amazing penguin exhibit. It was nice to see a huge Stellar seal , but all he did was lay on a rock.

On the positive side, the Beluga exhibit is nice and the little cave formations around it are cute for the kids to discover, but not much else was very nice or unique. We've been to quite a few aquariums and this was on the bottom of our list. Definately NOT worth the money. I think it would be okay to visit if you didn't spend much money.

“Not worth the price”

The Aquarium is very small for the price you pay. A family of five cost $95.00. We were able to view the whole aquarium in about two hours. We did not see the sea lion show (have been to sea world when it was Ohio-it did not look as good and not worth the wait for the next show) We did stand in line for about 30 minutes for a 3-D motion ride that was pretty good. The Cleveland Zoo has a sting ray exhibit, rain forsest and an aquarium and charges half the cost. Too expensive and not a lot to see.
