“Right off the highway... NOISE!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We stayed at this hotel on a Friday night for a decent rate($80). The hotel location is very convenient being right off I-95 and while there aren't many eating options close by, there are lots of restaurants and a mall just a couple exits North on Post Rd/US 1 in Milford/Orange. We had no problems with check-in. As was pointed out we did have to sign an agreement outlining that there will be no partying, and were issued parking permits(which were useless photocopies that could easily be duplicated or faked... not sure the reason for using them, the parking lot is plenty big). We used the computer in the lobby to print an email coupon, which worked great. Did not get breakfast so I can't comment on that.

This definitely was an older Springhill property and it showed in some areas. Our room had the standard little kitchen area which is nice to have. The HDTV was the first one I've ever encountered that didn't have a port to plug in a VGA cord from a laptop, because it was a much older model. Worse there wasn't a SINGLE HD channel, all the regular channels looked mediocre at best. Ditch the old PPV system, it's 2012 not 2002. Bathroom was fine, and the room overall was clean. The HVAC worked ok, although it seemed to want to stop cooling even with the fan set ON and the temp as low as it could go, perhaps this was due to the motion sensor.

The HVAC couldn't drown out the NOISE from I-95 though! EVERY single truck we could hear go by, which did not make for an easy time falling asleep. I imagine the rooms on the other side of the hotel are quieter, I will never stay here again unless i'm on that side, and then it's questionable. Did not have the best night's sleep from the constant noise of trucks going by. If you are a light sleeper consider another hotel. Oddly enough I've stayed at the Fairfield Inn just a minute away on the other side of I-95 and didn't hear traffic.

After reading some other recent reviews about vehicle break-ins and my not so restful night sleep, I'm not sure I'll stay here again. Plenty of other hotels in the area.

Room Tip: AVOID the side facing the hallway at all costs. VERY loud!

We stayed at this hotel purely for the Jacuzzi room. The room was set up very awkward and inconvenient. It seemed like everything was placed randomly. They did have a microwave and small fridge, but it was small and cramped. All the decor was stuck in the 80's and very wild and unappealing. The TV was not able to be seen nicely from the bed and was too far away. I did not like being on the ground floor, but that is not the hotels fault. Breakfast was very tasty and well put together. I also like the pantry. They were strict on the policies such as no parties, no confetti, and a lot of other weird things. The staff was nice, but definitely not there to make it a "home away from home". The room was loud, and you could hear the water running from other rooms. The ice machines did not work. I would not stay here again, its average at best, there are plenty of other hotels to stay at for the price.

I am a frequent Marriott Hotel guest and elite status member, but they can keep this property! The hotel staff was not very friendly, hurried us along during check in and made us sign a "no party agreement" on New Year's eve for a night that the hotel was not even fully booked! Also a parking pass was given that informed us that our car valuables should be left out of sight. That should have been our first clue not to stay in this hotel. Of course, when we woke up New Year's Day, a patron's car had been robbed and there were 2 police cars there! Yes, it is convenient from the highway, but the rooms have not been updated since probably the 1980's. We stayed in a jacuzzi suite with a microwave and refrigerator for $200 and it was way overpriced for the condition of the room. The furniture was old and scratched, carpet worn and not clean and the TV frame was melted and the room did not feel clean. This is your best room in the hotel? The jacuzzi worked great. However, it was next to the other jacuzzi room and you could hear their very loud water running while you were trying to sleep, etc. When I asked the manager for another room due to the condition and the loud water issue, she could not have even be bothered to talk to us face-to-face, nor compenste us in any way for the high priced, low rated room. Instead, she hurriedly ran down the hall to deliver towels to other patrons whom I hope didn't also overpay for their room. The pool was small and FULL of kids and not worth the effort. The lobby looks as if it has been updated, but Marriott needs to continue this throughout the hotel and get surveillance cameras for thier parking lot! I am making sure that Marriott receives this review and also that I will not stay at this hotel again! Get rid of the staff and start over!

Room Tip: Don't go to this hotel until they fix all of these problems!

CONVENIENT! This hotel is easily accessible off of I-95, an easy drive to restaurants and shopping. The room itself (King Suite) was very nice: king bed, nice linens, micro-fridge and microwave, desk with high-speed wireless internet connection. The pool hours were a little inconvenient (opens at 9:00am), so I did not have a chance to use, although it was small (no lap swimming there). The breakfast was ample and the serving area was large and well-stocked. I would stay here again.

This hotel is right off the highway next to a Red Roof Inn and Residence Inn. It's a bit old based on the ancient and slow elevator. The rooms are OK, but a bit small and like one other reviewer mentioned, the TV cannot really be viewed from the bed very well. The closet is small and very close to the bed. Bathroom is large and comfortable.

Internet is free and so is breakfast. Breakfast is a hot breakfast, scrambled eggs, sausage with all the other continental stuff. It's a OK hotel, but the AAA rate is priced a bit higher than the Hyatt Place which offers a much nicer hotel, faster internet, TWO quick elevators, and no strange people with 2 year olds running around making noise at midnight.

Room Tip: For a quiet room, ask for one not facing the highway.

The room was ok, nothing special. Only one TV which was located in the seating area, which could not be seen well from the beds in the other room.

Staff was friendly and attentive.

Limited parking, had to search for a spot.

Great stay over the obviously busy Thanksgiving weekend. We saw family after family coming in Thanksgiving night. Our room was large and had a great layout. Kind of a segmented studio with a mini kitchen living room area and a half wall separating the bed area. The room was clean and the swiveling tv was a big hit. Breakfast was good and fun. Everyone liked the wafflemaker and they had good coffee. My son wanted to move there permanently. I would definitely go back.
