Just returned from short trip to Distington and a beautiful B&b that is Littlebeck Warren. Situated just out of Distington and a couple of miles from Whitehaven we chose this for a quiet, relaxing break but, although the reviews on Trip were very promising, we did have reservations and so went with an open mind but how right we found the reviews were.
After a long day we got there to be warmly welcomed by Sue who took us on a tour round the beautiful property and then to our room and what a surprise lay in store. The room was very clean, superbly decorated, all the usual tea and coffee, tv, toiletries but the bathroom was so stunning and unexpected in a small B&B (there are only 5 rooms) and one that any large hotel would envy.
We also decided to eat there as we couldn't be bothered to try and find somewhere, although Sue was only too happy to point us in the direction of one or two good eateries, and the surprises continued. The menu was a good selection and very well priced, although as the wife said we should wait to see how good it was as there must be a catch- there wasn't. The food was of extremely good quality and equal to many restaurants we have dined in and for much less money, there is also a small bar on site which is operated as an honesty bar, just take the drinks and write down what you've taken pay as you go or pay later.
There has to be a catch here and it must be breakfast, there wasn't. Again the breakfast was as good as any hotel, cereals, fruit, full English,a few daily specials and as much tea and toast as you wanted, although after the full breakfast you didn't have room for much toast, no scrimping on quality or quantity and the perfect start to the day.
Sue is only too pleased to help in planning the day and seems to be very well educated on the local area and is a pleasure to talk to. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of days and a real treat to have found a true gem of a B&B

Room Tip: There is no tip necessary the rooms we saw were of equally superb standard

After trying many places in the area a colleague eventually found this delightful guest house. I stayed this week and cannot recommend it highly enough. From arrival to departure nothing was to much trouble. The bedroom and bathroom were finished and furnished to the very highest standards. Sue had arranged an evening meal for us and that and the breakfast were excellent the food was top quality and beautifully prepared.

Confusion via a third party meant I was booked for the wrong evening and they were unable to accommodate me on my chosen. Response and action from Sue was brilliant. she contacted the third party sorted out the cancellation and did not charge anything for the room, although she would have been perfectly entitled to do so. Service and attitude deserves recognition and means I'll take care and make sure I book the correct date when next in the area.

I can not speak highly enough of Littlebeck Warren and its owner Sue. I have spent four weeks as a guest here while on business, and it is the nearest to home you could wish for. It is more than just the first class furnishings and fittings, it is more than the lovely food, for me it is the atmosphere and the genuine welcome which makes the difference. Lavish bathrooms and cosy beds reflect the attention to detail, and Sue is always on hand with a smile and a friendly word. Definitely highly recommended.

Weekend break at Littlebeck Warren and it was the best accommodation we have stayed in! Decorated and furnished to high standards throughout. Very clean. Sue and her staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Copper room, lovely. Bathroon was amazing and the bath out of this world. Breakfast was delicious and consisted of high quality ingredients.
Not alot to see in Distington but it is central to the west coast and the lake district. We spent a lovely day at Muncaster Castle. Cannot recommend this little gem enough. Book and enjoy!

Room Tip: Copper Room was lovely but cannot imagine any of the rooms being below standard

We booked a weekend stay at Littlebeck Warren and stayed in the Stone Room. The room was absolutely gorgeous, it had a free standing bath, extra large shower with an amazing stone wall feature and a beautiful stone sink. The bedroom was nicely furnished with a comfy bed with pure white sheets and tasteful throw / cushions. We were spoilt for choice at breakfast - everything we ate was high quality and tasty. I particularly liked all the finishing touches, I could go on forever ..... so why not go and treat yourself ... you will not be disappointed! Sue is the most fantastic host and will make your stay special.

Me and my partner stayed at littlebeck warren for three nights in the copper room, the room was lovely and very clean, well stocked tea and coffee supplies, the bathroom was amazing especially the bath. We went away to relax and that is exactly what we did. Sue is a fantastic host very happy to help and can't do enough for you but not at all invasive, we had an evening meal on one occasion and it was lovely very fresh and plenty, breakfast was also great and lots of choice. I would highly recommend littlebeck warren and would definitely go back.
