“Great Place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2006

When we drove up we were not sure about the location, it is across the parking lot of the Buckland Hills Mall. But when entering the hotel, the front desk people were very friendly and helpful. Our room was great, very clean, very nice looking. The bathroom was spotless. The beds were comfortable and very clean. The furniture was nice. The kids loved the indoor pool. My son was a bit disappointed that the pool did not have a deep end - but my husband and I were relieved as our children are just learning to swim. The free breakfast was the best we have ever seen at any hotel. A variety of cereals, bagles, muffins, yougerts, hard boiled eggs, beverages and you could make your own hot waffles! Delicious. I think there was even more, but I cant remember. The proximity to the mall turned out to be a plus. We went over to kill some time - they have a wonderful carosel that the kids loved. We were on our way to the University of CT early the next morning - less than 1/2 hour away. We would definately stay here again. FYI- coin operated washer and dryer on site, exercise room, indoor pool and hot tub. Access to internet. Friendly staff, clean rooms.

This wonderful hotel is conveniently located at the exit 62 of I-84, a good midpoint between Boston and New York. We often use it as hotel of Friday night heading to Boston and back on Sunday afternoon as rest point since it is right in the nice Buckland Hill Mall where we can had a late lunch at the foodcourt.

The staff at the hotel is very nice with a lot curtesey and service promptly. It was, in fact, a famous 2.5* Country Inn and Suites, sitll with the look and feel, before sold to 2* Fairfield Inn and Suites chain by Marriott.

It has complimentary sitdown breakfast, which is nice, has many itesm.

Even if you don't stay here, drop by on the way to or from Boston and take a rest, have a cup of coffee and check out their nice room, you will feel very welcome in this hotel. and of course, you will want to check out the Buckland Hill Mall as well, which has a kids area where parents can rest watching kids play. There is also a Barnes & Noble bookstore inside the mall, nice food court ...etc.

Oh, because it is at the hill, so you got some nice view.

Nearby, there is a Chuck E Cheese in town that kids will sure to love it.

The school orchestra having Boston trip also stop here for lunch before heading back.

Parking is free like most rural hotel, and the wireless Internet access is free, even if you just stop by take a rest, you can get online to book the hotel right at the breakfast area. They also has a public use Internet station there to be used to check email or website info ...

I feel this hotel is also very good for people on business trip. While husband working, the wife can take kids to the mall, shoping, reading, playing, eating ...etc. so convenient and can walk over, no need for car nor ride.

I stayed here for 1 night for a price of $69! Located in the parking lot basically of the Buckland Shopping Mall, the place is surprisingly quiet. Very nice check-in staff, and breakfast was excellent seeing as it was complimentary. For this price, you can't beat it. I recommend this hotel.

A clean, cozy hotel but the beds are not comfortable! Nice breakfast with waffles on request. Friendly staff. But the beds....I'll stay elsewhere for better beds.

We recently stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Manchester, CT adjacent to Buckland Hills Mall. What a wonderful stay. The staff were super friendly, courteous and went out of their way to make our stay one to remember. We were traveling with an infant and a toddler. We arrived on our flight early and they were kind enough to let us check in early. Then I thought the rooms had a refrigerator (they do not) and I called to see if they had a mobile one. At first I was told no - but a few minutes later the desk agent called and informed me that she had found one and it was on it's way up.

The breakfast was abundant and always was stocked with cereals, eggs and milk (not on ice, mind you, but in a nice little fridge). The breakfast attendant was very helpful.

The rooms were of average size but very clean. The hotel was kept well and maintained.

The location right next to the mall was nice as well, because there are a number of restaurants within walking distance, i.e. Ruby Tuesdays, Vinnie T's, Hops and Baha Fresh.

We really enjoyed our stay and will definately stay there again if we need to head to that area.

This hotel has country charm and is lovely. Front porch is great, as well as the fireplace/sitting area in the lobby. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The continental breakfast is served in a dining room that is very warm and inviting. And the selection is extensive and very good. Staff is friendly. The location is ideal...adjacent to Buckland Hills Mall and numerous restaurants; with easy access to Interstate 84.
