Away for a 2-night Anniversary at The Copper Beech Inn: Originally had emailed the Inn three times to inquire about packages and availability, but never received a response (should have taken my que from there). The Inn has 3 room levels to choose from and we chose the package with a suite (mid range). The room was in the Carriage House behind the main building. Size of room was quite large w/Queen canopy bed and 2 small sitting areas. Jacuzzi bathtub - but it wasnt too inviting with mold in the handle and the jacuzzi seperating from the wall w/an attempt to cover it with caulking. Mattress was like sleeping on a board and I spent the 2 nights on the couch.Food: Dinner was excellent! The food was fantastic! As I said to my husband, "I didnt know that food could taste so good." We ordered the escargot for our first course, a lobster w/black truffle cream sauce and bread pudding for dessert. The next morning the pastry chef had prepared chocolate croissants, muffins, homemade granola for a wonderful delicious continental breakfast. The food alone was worth the stay!Unfortunately, in our hurry to get on the road after check out, my husband left his suit and dress shoes in the closet. We emailed the inn w/no response (they really should take the offer to email as correspondence off their web page) and called after that. I apologized for the hassle but if they could send us the clothes any way that made it easiest for them whether COD or charge our credit card would be appreciated. Right away the inn keeper said, "yes we are not going to pay for the mailing of your clothes, you ruined a towel that we had to throw away but I guess that is the cost of running this kind of business." I acknowledged that I used one hand towel to remove makeup. I also said that my husband left his cell phone in the room and she gave no indication that she was going to take the minute to look for it. We called a day later to see if the cell phone was located and they indicated they would call us back within the hour. Thusfar, a day later, no phone call. We have made 5 seperate inquiries and no response. Awful service!!For the $750 we spent for 2-night stay...I would stay elsewhere. Under new ownership, but they havent gotten it together yet.
