“Great Value for Hartford Area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2009

The Days Inn Hartford is located next to a Holiday Inn Express near the private plane airport and with easy access off the interstate. It has relatively large spacious rooms that are clean and well maintained. It has its own enclosed parking lot and a very friendly staff. The continental breakfast is fine and has seating in the main lobby. It also is just down the street from the famous Chowder Pot restaurant. We met a very nice gentleman who travels all over the world, and he stays there when he's traveling to his summer home in Maine. Overall, it's a good value for a good night's sleep in the Hartford area.

This hotel was supposed to be by the airport. It is, but it is the small old airport in a very bad part of town. After driving to the regional airport and going to the Days Inn out there, (a very long drive) we were told that we had been deceived. We had to drive another hour back where we had come from to go to the correct hotel. There is only one entrance to the hotel, signs everywhere stating no visitors. The hotel clerk was behind glass. We were supposed to have a non-smoking room. It stated that it was, but it definitely was not. The breakfast was poor. The room was clean, but other than that, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. When we returned home, everything had to be washed because of the stinch of smoke in all of our clothes. I had just washed most everything before we left our last location.

Horrible. Desk clerk whose mastery of the English language was poor. Felt very unsafe in the parking lot, which had no security cameras or access to other roads. Halls smelled really sickly sweet and awful. Barking dogs in adjacent room. Ridiculously bad continental breakfast. No acknowledgment from desk clerk when checking out. I would not stay here again. The only good thing was the mattress and pillows...surprisingly comfortable.

I barely slept the night i was there. I should have read all the reviews. I] slept with a chair by my door. If my deposit wasnt lost, i would have left when I saw the woman behind the bullet proof window. There were cigarette burns on the comforter in my nonsmoking room, which smelled like smoke. I think they put the little sign on the TV which didnt work. The coffee pot was missing the coffee pot. The only thing that was good was the soap was clean. Like another review, I ran out as soon as the sun came up.

Chose this hotel because it allowed pets for a the reasonable fee of $5. Desk clerk sits in bullet-proof booth...we should have turned around and left right then. But we checked in with my young son and small dog to a noisy, dirty room (as in hairs on the sheets and pillows). We only planned to stay one night. But after riding down in the elevator with a prostitute (fish net stockings, knee high boots, ultra mini skirt, and ultra long curling finger nails) as she spoke on her cell phone and hopped in the waiting cab out front, I began to get the picture. There were many tractor trailers parked in the lot - obviously a convenient spot for truckers since it is right off the highway. We lasted until 11pm, grabbed all our stuff and hit the road...I only wish I had checked this site first...Don't make the same mistake, go elsewhere!

Recently stayed here while working in CT, booked ahead of time site unseen. Rooms were dirty, stained, smelled of mold, cigarette stains on the tub (in a no smoking room), stains on mattress, hair on towels, fruit flies in breakfast area...not the most pleasant place to stay.

It was fine..good for the price, though I was a bit scared from the first review. They allow pets and there were a few people with dogs. It was in a good location right off highway. The room could have used some updating but it was clean and for a 1 night stay, I didn't need anything more.
