I had been to Eli's on Whitney, which is the sit down tavern/restaurant. I stopped into Eli's pizza to check out what they had. Eli's Pizza is a bit of a different subject, but still extremely good. When you walk in, you will see a glass case featuring some of their fresh made salads, pasta salads, pizza and other dishes. On the board behind the case they have a list of sandwiches, calzones and other foods made to order. You order at the counter and can sit in the eat in area or take it to go. They also have a dine in option if you are more in the mood to sit and be waited on, however I have never done this. Both times I've eaten here I ordered at the counter and sat there to eat. They also have an open cold case that has other pasta dishes, like homemade mac and cheese. Again, perfect to grab and go. I have had their pizza caprese, which had fresh made mozzarella...you can taste that it is not packaged. Also, I have had their bread rolls, the spinach to be exact. I had them heat and slice it. It was very, very good and I have been wanting to go back and get it again. After eating at both the restaurant and the take out place, I would say that if you're looking for something fast, stop at the pizza place. If you're looking for a full meal, go to the actual restaurant. One thing I will say about this place however, is that they could pay closer attention to the cleanliness of the sit down area. Both times I was there the floors were really dirty, just covered in crumbs and several tables were in need of being wiped down. With only about 8 tables to sit at, leaving some dirty limits your options considerably.
