“Very disappointed...this one is 50/50”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

The room itself was fine and comfortable for the money. If all you need is a room and a shower then this is good enough.

My personal issues...I requested first floor because I cannot climb stairs. I've got medical issues. So what do they do? Give me a room upstairs because the bottom rooms are being renovated. Had I known that in advance, I seriously would have looked elsewhere.

The continental breakfast was very nice but the room had absolutely no air or fans on. It was stifling in there.

The swimming pool was so gross we wouldn't let the kids go back in after 1 trip. You couldn't see the bottom it was so dirty.

The worst part was that there was a 53 passenger bus full of kids (8-14) staying there at the same time. These kids were running around and yelling in front of peoples doors. One night they were doing this at 10:00 after we were all in bed. We called the front desk to ask that they speak to the chapperone and they said they would. 10 minutes later, it was even worse. I called the desk again and was told...."they're just leaving the pool, it will quiet down soon". Not happy!!!

Front desk help was ok but you could tell you were "bothering" them. Overall.....would not go back!

We stayed overnight and were very happy with the quiet location, the very helpful staff and the comfortable room. And of course, the price! The staff had suggestions and directions to everything we asked about. The breakfast was great for starting our next day.

Anyone who goes to the casino on the weekend knows how astronomical it can cost to stay overnight; we got this place on a saturday night for $59. Honestly, i was expecting to hate it; but it was clean; the tv and mini fridge were new and the bed sheets and bathroom were clean.
The staff was very friendly.
We had a smoking room that held an odor, but we got over it.
My only complaints would be that the sheet was frayed and the matress pad came undone revealing a not so nice looking matress. There was no hot water.

The Quality Inn in Groton has a convenient location, low rates, and clean rooms. The property itself is older and from the outside a bit dated. The interior of the rooms however appear to be renovated not long ago. The beds were a little flat and hard, but exceptionally clean. The room I had featured a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, ironing board, and new flat scrren tv. The bathroom was very clean. The desk staff were very friendly. I did not take advantage of the free breakfast or indoor pool, but both looked great. I had a minor problem with the toilet lever being loose, so I notified staff upon checkout and they were very polite about it. My only problem, which I didn't bother addressing was the heating unit was very loud. Every time it clicked on during the night it made a loud noise. This was a clean, comfortable room for very little money. I would reccomend this hotel to friends or family.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel recently with an adjoinging room to my sister & brother-in-law. The $50 room rate was great, and I wasn't expecting much at that price point. The room was clean, but could use some improvements.

The pool area was heated (very hot) but the pool water was cool.

Free WiFi was spotty in the rooms, but stornger in the lobby.

There was a free continental breakfast, but since there wasn't much on the menu we opted to go to a local diner that the front desk recommened which was very good.

Overall if you are looking for a place to rest your head after a night/day at one of the local casinos or in Mystic at a cheap rate this is a place to stay.

Room Tip: Check out Norm's Diner down the road for breakfast.

We went to foxwoods this past weekend and had reservations for the Confort Inn in mystic Ct. they over booked so they sent us to the quality Inn in Groton.
The place was a total dump.... Rooms smelt like pool chlorine and Smoke, Spider webs all over stairways. We took showers at 9am to cold water. The room was cheap but not worth it.Called a cab to go to Casino....never came, so we drove...was not 10 minutes but 20 to 25.
Went to breakfast at 10;15.....not much left, no hot food just very small muffins

We only spent a night here. Very close to Mohegan sun (approx 10 mins) and Foxwoods. The staffs were very nice. I do no remember seeing any shops close to the Inn. The breakfast was good, you get both warm and cold food. The bed was awesome! The bathroom is a little tiny. I would stay here again.
