We liked this Hampton Inn very much. Staff was friendly and helpful, room clean and comfy, location great. Part of the stay included very nice breakfast offerings buffett style. We wanted to take the Ferry from New London ---> L.I. and this was easy to get to and not too far from hotel. Also went to Mohegan Sun and that was just a short driving distance. All in all, we recommend and would stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in August. First the pros. Staff very friendly and helpful. room very clean. Hot dogs in lobby around dinner time (son liked). Cookies and Andes candies at night. Purchased nicely discounted Mystic Aquarium tickets. Son missed breakfast, got a free breakfast bag for him.

Now...
Our room had a view of the carport roof.
No shampoo in room.
Booked a double room, charged extra $10 for son
Breakfast - out of oatmeal at 9:15 - 10:00 close). Was told it would take 30 minutes to make more.
Breakfast - out of fruit by 9:30 each day
Breakfast - one fo 2 juice dispensers output juice flavored water, the other, nearly pure juice.
Mattress "slid" on bed somewhat
Serious light leakage from both window and door at night
crazy loud elevators

I realize that this is the low end of the Hilton chain - the room looked like a Comfort Inn/Days Inn, but it costs more. I selected this hotel as it was considerably cheaper than Mystic options. It was adequate but I doubt that I'd stay again. We did not use the workout area or pool.

Room tip: I think we were in 208. The middle rooms on the even side overlook the carport roof on the second floor. Avoid rooms near the elevator - Unbelievably loud/screechy.

Very friendly staff. Lobby filled with courtesy fruit and drink. Room smelled good and had LCD HD TV. Fitness room cardio equip plus swiss ball and weights - excellent. Pool temp not cold, not warm. One issue with housekeeping leaving door slightly open due to our using one reward night and one paid night - front desk knew and handled checkout-checkin but somehow housekeeping didnt get the message.

The room was nice and big--one bedroom suite is ideal for young kids. Lots of running around room. The staff was very accomodating and helpful with our young children. The carpets were questionable-- definitely need to be changed out--Socks had to be worn when we were in the room. The ac units were a little musty and could use some cleaning or new filters. The tv interface was absolutly annoying and difficult to use--wish we had more kids channels to choose from. Overall, a decent place to stay while in CT but not sure I would choose it again unless they do a makeover on the rooms.
