“Great Hotel and Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2008

Stayed at this hotel due to it's convenient location near a personal event I was attending at The Colonade, which is right across the parking lot. What a great place! Spacious rooms, clean, nice setting, nice location.

This is a great place to stay for almost any type of traveler (on business, with family, etc.). I would stay here again and also recommend the hotel to anyone. This type of experience is what keeps me committed to the Hilton chain.

I travel extensively for business, and this hotel was one of the best I have stayed in. The rooms are well equipped with a range top, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator etc. But also this hotel provided dishwasher soap, liquid dish soap, full line of silverware and dishes, sponge, oven mitts, everything you could need.
While I did have a some trouble getting the temperature low enough in the bedroom ( I suspect no matter what you set it on, it actually nevers goes below 70) they did have a ceiling fan that helped. The bathroom had spacious drawers so you didn't need to leave all of your stuff on the sink top.
As with all Homewood Suites, they had a lite dining option each night and drinks in the lobby. While I never attended any, they did have an option in your room where you could, if you couldn't attend, have some of the evening fare delivered to your room.
The breakfast offerings were some of the best I have seen. Each morning there were two cooked items such as omelets, hash, bacon. You could always make fresh belgian waffles. The fruit selection was a bit lacking, but over all it was very nice.
The hotel is within walking distance of a Hoolihan's that is very good, and a few blocks from an upscale outdoor shopping plaza.
As it turned out, while I was booked to stay 4 nights I needed to check out of the hotel on the third day at 3:15 as my meeting ended early and I could get a flight out that evening. The hotel usualy has a late checkout time of 3PM after which they charge you 1/2 of your room rate. But they were very accommodating and allowed me the late check out for only $30.
The beds were very comfortable and the hotels was extremely clean. I would highly recommend staying here.

Our family of 4 stayed here 4 nts while we were in town to attend a wedding in Hartford. After a bumpy start (long wait at check-in, first two rooms not what we'd reserved --the first a handicapped room with no dividing door and the second very smoky despite being a non-smoking room) we found ourselves in a well-set-up and very clean room.

The outer room had a small sitting area, little (maybe 30" diam) table, and efficiency kitchen with full-size fridge and instructions for ordering groceries if we needed them. The fridge was not turned on (which is good because it would have been a horrible waste of elec) but once we set it up we kept cold drinks, leftovers, etc for our family in there. It was great! The breakfast buffet was included in the room rate. Each day there were fresh waffles, cereal, coffee, pastries and some sort of meat (sausage, bacon, corned beef hash) and some sort of egg. Other members of the wedding stayed next door at the Hilton Garden Inn and didn't get breakfast included in their comparable room rate...so we felt like we got a real bargain.

The hotel is very new and everything is clean and well maintained. The room was well-set-up--the outer room as described earlier and the inner room with a large dressing area, a large sink console, and a separate bath/toilet area. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were comfy too. The tiny (maybe 15'x20'?) gym has all new equip & a tv, enough to get a good workout.

Hartford sadly has not improved much in the 15 years since I lived there, so we didn't really want to stay there...we are so glad that we had a nice, clean, safe place to stay while in the area. We would definitely stay here again next time we visit!

I recently stayed at the Homewood Suites in Glastonbury for three nights on business.

The hotel grounds and lobby are well maintained and clean. The hotel has a pool, fitness center and basketball court, all of which are very nice although has limited equipment.

The rooms are comfortable, functional and well maintained. Each room has a kitchen area, living room, separate bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. The living room has a sofa along with a work area. The internet is both wifi and wired and functions very well. The beds are comfortable and the climate control works very well.

I had breakfast one morning and was good, not great, but what you expect for a free breakfast. The staff all seemed pleasant although housekeeping was hit and miss, not refreshing all items every day.

Overall it was a good stay, I would definitely stay here again next time I am in town.

Please avoid booking events or meetings here. I have tried for 4 days to get an event manager to talk to me and no one has returned my call. When I finally got someone that acted as if they had no reason to be sorry and still did not offer me any information because "they were too busy!"
Wanted to contact me tomorrow....Incredible!

Stayed here on business for one night. Would also consider for a pleasure and extended stay. Was very pleased with overall condition (the hotel's only a year or so old) and cleanliness. My king bed suite was a nice size, intelligently designed, and tastefully decorated. My favorite feature was the bed and bedding; very comfortable with nice high thread count linens. Other positives: clock radio with MP3 connection, choice of no-charge wired (or wireless) internet connection, kitchenette stocked with pots and pans, dishes etc., decent size fridge, large bathroom with roomy shower (no tub in this room), lots of drawer and closet space. The staff responded very quickly to my complaint about a running toilet. The water on the fifth floor was hot on demand with good pressure. Though it was close to the highway I did not notice any noise at night. Breakfast was provided with toughtful choices, adequate for most people's needs, and even included fresh-cut properly ripened fruit. Located within a quiet business office park and close to I-91 with great restaurants and shopping within walking or short driving distance.

The only item not up to par with the rest of the hotel was that the TV (a CRT flat screen) had terrible picture quality. The number of channels offered was fine but switching from one to the next was excrutiatingly slow.
