“Decent food but totally overpriced!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2014

We were traveling through Fairfield, CT on our way to Baltimore recently and stopped for lunch at Bodega Taco Bar on the suggestion of Trip Advisor reviews. The price for lunch for 4 was over $100 (no alcohol involved) and not including tip. We had two appetizers, 7 tacos, 1 burrito and 2 pitchers of unsweetened ice tea. The tacos are not what you think of when you get a taco. While tasty they equate to about two bites or maybe even one bit to a big man. The burrito was big enough to feed 2 people. The appetizers were small tasty bites but again...not worth the price. Most people would not normally spend more than $100 for a lunch unless it was at a high end restaurant. This restaurant is in a strip mall with a Mexican theme, unassuming atmosphere...just not the kind of place you'd expect that kind of a bill. The most extraordinary charge was $15 for a pitcher of iced tea that filled 5 small plastic glasses. Really? Would definitely not return.

“Very nice lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2014

Had lunch there this week and it was very nice. Food was very good and worth the price. Authentic Mexican and good quality.....lots of choices....we had mainly tacos and they were small (a bit pricey for such a small taco) but good. Daily specials add to the menu. I will go back to this place. I am guessing you need a reservation at this place on Friday nights.

“Omg as my kids would say!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2014

Limited review of the menu as I was on the fly. Formed of mine and I were rushing between appts and local told us to go there. We are from W coast so was a but surprised when he told us how good it was. Mexican in East coast?...

Had three selections of their tacos! Small but mighty! Gourmet and Taco collide. I need to be back in the area in a few weeks and this will be a must for me whenever I am in the area!

Staff was attentive as well! A nice little find!

“Authenic Mexican Food in Connecticut!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2014

If you are from Arizona and happen to be visiting Fairfield, CT do NOT miss Bodega Taco Bar on the Post Road -- you will swear you are back "home"! This tiny, eclectic spot offers wonderful
Mexican Corn Chowder and a Ceviche that is outstanding - in fact you won't be disappointed whatever your choice is!

“Average,Really!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2014

This may be the best that Connecticut has in Southwest/Mexican food but this would never pass in the Southwest USA. The chicken quesadillas were lacking in both chicken and cheese and were very dry; the beef tacos were so lacking in cheese so we asked for more to put on ourselves; the shrimp enchiladas were NOT! They were just shrimp on rice--Very disappointing! There wer 2 dishes that did deserve compliments. The guacamole with chips was delicious and so were the brussel sprouts. The service was marginal because all the meals did not come out together. The restaurant is small and quite busy.
