“We Eat Here twice a week.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

Consistently good food at decent prices. They pour a hefty drink as well. Always very satisfied with experience.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2012

The food is GREAT! The space is a little cramped, but I will suffer having the people next to you listening to your conversations to eat here. The menu is wonderful. Good drinks, too. A very hearty bistro style restaurant!

“A Touch of France in Connecticut”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2011

Good food, good wine, good service, good ambiance. What more do you want? Or need? This is one very nice spot for a pleasant lunch or dinner without the crowds or hysteria or noise. I keep going back and have never been disappointed.

“If you can't make it to France go to Fairfield.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

I was pleasantly surprised ,after just returning from France, to have a meal like you would find in France. The decor, from the etched glass, art work and Bistro buzz, is very French. All 5 of us were extremely happy with our food. onion soup, beet goat cheese salad, roasted chicken, creamed spinach, trout, frites and the finale, beignets UMM! The service was pleasant and not rushed. I noticed a lot of comments on review sites to the 50+ and " older crowd" . I am one of those but go to restaurants to eat, not estimate the ages of the customers. Maybe they should try the clubs and leave the good restaurants for us . If you want a French Bistro experience give Martels a shot.

“OK is about it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

My family and I have been to Martell's several times over the past 2 years. Food is OK, wine list is OK-, service could be more friendly. Steak and frites is the best bet. In cold weather don't even think of sitting at the couple of tiny tables they have at the entrance in the bar area; you will freeze your you-know-what off.
