So my wife and I stayed at the Gris for a couple of nights over Valentine's Day and ate there that night. Naturally, it was crowded, and a bit of an experience for that reason. (The path from dining room to rest rooms was just a little hazardous inasmuch as the band was playing and folks were dancing in the doorway.) There was a prix fixe dinner on offer, but we both opted for something different since we were dieting and really didn't need dessert. My wife had a pasta dish and I salmon. They were both o.k., and the salad was fine as well. The best part of the meal for me, though, were the warm rolls, but, of course, I could only have one of them, alas! I suspect that dinner at the Gris would be tastier with fewer folks there, and the experience was worth it anyway, but if your main goal is a gourmet meal, it's not going to be there--at least on so busy an occasion.
