“"Absolutely Exquisite B&B Owned By A Very Special Couple"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

Elegant, style, beauty. These are just a few words that describe the Boardman House B&B, located in East Haddam, CT. The entire home, and each guest suite are beautifully appointed with gorgeous antiques and wonderful furnishings throughout. Beautiful crystal antique chandeliers and lighting add to the ambience. We stayed two nights in the luxurious Garden Suite that allowed for total privacy and the feeling of being in your own apartment. And one night in the Boardman Room in another beautifully appointed large suite with a marble fireplace. King beds that would delight anyone with linens and duvets so comfortable you don't want to get out of bed. Heated marble floors and towel bars with beautiful modern in-suite baths that have luxurious white plush towels. For your convenience and enjoyment, flat screen television with cable and Wi-Fi connections. I could go on and on about all of the amenities and charm. In addition to all of this, the owners, Mia and Andre are two of the best hosts a guest could hope for. They are two of the most interesting and intelligent people to hold a conversation with. Engaging, warm, and talented people who have a passion for their business, and a knowledge about restoring vintage homes back to their natural beauty. For anyone going to the Goodspeed Opera House, or just spending time in the area, you don't want to miss the opportunity to stay at this magnificent home, owned by this amazing couple. Can't wait until our next stay.

We have been going here for years, the innkeepers are gracious and attentive, the Inn is immaculate and beautiful, and the breakfast is fresh and wholesome. Every room has it's own charm, each one unique and charming in it's own way. When we go there it feels like a luxurious vacation and like coming home. As big fans of Goodspeed Opera House this is the ideal place to stay just a few steps away from the theater. There are also wonderful restaurants such as the River Tavern and delightful shops such as Frock in the immediate area that are wonderful additions to what is already an idyllic getaway. We will stay nowhere else when we go.

T
We stayed here 2 or 3 nights and thought the room was beautiful but there was virtually no hot water. Even after we brought this to the owner's attention and they claimed they adjusted the water heater, the problem continued. We had to take only quick cold showers the entire stay and they refused to adjust our bill claiming they had never had this problem.

This was our second visit and even better than the first. First, the place is gorgeous and the hosts are friendly and very accommodating. Some of the best parts are the beds, the radiant floor heat in the bathroom, and the towel warmers. Every detail has been thought of.
We have now stayed here in the Fall and in the winter. Hopefully, we will be back for Spring!
Thanks to Mia and Andre for creating such a beautiful place.

This place is first class all the way. We stayed in the corner room and it was fantastic. With the high ceilings, beautiful crown molding, large windows, exquisite furnishings, heated floor and heated towel rack in the bathroom, large walk in shower with gorgeous tile, comfortable bed, this place is not your average bed and breakfast. And what a bubbly and gracious host Mia is. She is truly delightful. Look no further, this is THE PLACE!!!

Room Tip: There is no bad room in this place, only fantastic and more fantastic.

By far the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in. The decor and cleanliness of the place is only exceeded by the perfect hosting skills of Mia who makes you feel so special.
We stayed in the Garden suite which was beautiful.
Thanks Mia.

I'm grateful that I've traveled all over the world--and literally have stayed in hundreds of hotels and bed & breakfasts. I was SO DELIGHTED with my stay at the Boardman House, I just had to write a review!!!! Of all the places that I have stayed, the Boardman House, by far, was one of the most welcoming and special places I've ever been to! Not only are the rooms gorgeous (loved the heated bathroom floors!) but also the host, Mia, is so gracious and thoughtful, it is like you are staying at a dear friends home, where her #1 goal is to make sure you are happy and delighted! The breakfasts: delicious, the decor: magnificent, and the host: spectacular. What a winning combination that made my travels a wonderful memory. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Boardman House!
