“Very comfortable beds, great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2009

We stayed here for a wedding weekend w/our 2 dogs. They were very friendly and had doggie welcome kits. Ther also gave us a king corner suite near the back stairs for no extra charge. The decor, furnishings, and bedding were as sleek, new, and comfortable as you would find at a much "nicer" chain like a Westin. The bar in the parking lot is a little honky tonky, but funny.

Thank you for writing the review on TripAdvisor.com. We appreciate the feedback and are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We definitely enjoyed having you stay with us!

As of July 20th, the hotel has changed to the Comfort Inn & Suites, keeping the same staff and owners only updating the name and renovating the hotel.

If you are in the area again, please come to the new Comfort Inn & Suites and try our new bedding and new breakfast options at the same great price!

Not too many choices in this area and this one is pretty good. Check in, check out a breeze, indoor pool, serves a decent breakfast, more than the usual continental fare. The only minor complaint is the television reception was not the clearest, then again i didn't complain so it might have been fixed. The restaurant next door is a plus.

This hotel had a point breaker special, only 5000 points for a free night. I took my 9 year old for a "staycation", because it is only about one hour from our home. It has an indoor pool, and a nice FREE breakfast (all on Holiday Inn Points). Pleasantly, they even let me brng our little dog (for 10 bucks a night)! They welcomed him with a doggie bag of bones! The staff is friendly and nice, and there is a good restaurant next door.
It is a nice area to explore, good shopping one exit south, and a nice town (Putnam) one exit north. We stayed 2 nights and rented 2 movies, and with the charge for the dog and 10,000 points the total bill was 43.00 (keep in mind that breakfast was included each day)! It was great, I got to read a BOOK, relax, my 9 year old swam for hours and had the pool to herself. This is a nice little hotel, in a lovely part of CT.

I have stayed here several times while attending meetings in the area. The rooms are what you'd expect from a hotel of this type. I mean, we're talking about a Holiday Inn Express. Understanding that, the lodging is very adequate, the rooms are clean, and the wireless internet is free. I did have to go out to the lobby to use it some of the time but that wasn't terribly inconvenient anyway. The staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. As mentioned in another review, the bar next door is a plus.

Checked in and after an hour one of the staff tried to enter the room while I was in the bathroom. They claimed they had mistakenly entered the wrong electronic key information - IMPOSSIBLE! I'm lucky I was still recovering from a long drive and I wonder what the staff might have stolen had I been out. The breakfast bar was nice, though I would not have enjoyed it if my laptop had been stolen.

We attended a wedding in the area and found this to be very nice. The rooms had been recently updated and very clean. A nice bar next door was a plus.

A lot of the people staying there were going to the CT Casino's and found this to be an inexpensive option.

The hotel lacked two things that I think are important--Internet access (they were having issues with the wireless and didn't have "wired-in" backup) and Heat. The heater in the room 231 didn't work, I called down to the front desk, and they said to leave it on for 15 minutes and the air would heat up, I did this, and ended up with a much colder room. I was tired and didn't want to deal with maintenance, so I just requested an extra blanket.

On the plus side, the hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly.
