I wouldn't go to Darien to go to the Sugar Bowl, but sure would stop here again. It's a diner/luncheonette that might has time traveled from the 50s, 60s or 70s; it appears to be a mix of all three decades. With brightly-colored plastic lawn furniture, formica tables and an old-school counter, it would be eccentric enough without the various Americana articles packing every available space.
The coffee is good, the breakfast food acceptable, and the minimal staff is friendly. It looks like a place frequented by locals and people like us, early morning travelers in need of coffee. Which really was good. And it was a fun way to start the day.
