The Quality Inn Danbury, CT is borderline. Luckily, we only planned to stay one night on our way back home. The hotel layout is strange. Our room wasn't as clean as it should have been. The decor and TV were old and in need of upgrading.
The hallway to our room smelled like a litter box that hadn't been cleaned in a week. This may have been due to the new carpeting in the public areas, which was dark and patterned. The lobby and public areas had been fairly recently remodeled, but whoever chose the carpet, drapes, etc. obviously wasn't a professional decorator. The patterns and colors are clashy and look cheap.
The staff seemed shady. We had reserved a handicapped room, but the slick, fast talking manager who checked us in obviously had given it to someone else and was sure that we "didn't need it really." (We did, as we had my husband's elderly father with us.) The breakfast was meager and the orange juice I had was watered down.
