This hotel should be a motel- this way it would be more understanding as to why its so smoky. The elevator looked like it belonged to a housing project. There was peeling paint and mold in the halllways if you want to take the stairs. I really almost barfed from the smells of the hallways. Come on things happen but dont let guest think that by the look of the lobby that their getting excellent service. Oh and i stayed 2 nights and there was no room service. Please if you stay here bring all of your own neccesities. The iron was the best item of the room.

“Just Gross.”

Wellesley Inn Danbury

Feb 19, 2008

We booked a last minute deal on Travelocity and decided to get the hotel in Connecticut since we had never been there before. Before we get there, we call twice to ask the receptionist a question and she hangs up on us both times before we are finishing talking.

When we get to our room the first thing I notice is that there is a door connecting us to the room next door. It's locked, but ALL the noise drifts between the two rooms the entire time we are there. Luckily our loud neighbors do quiet down when we ask them to.

There is a brown substance on the wall next to the bed... splattered something. The sink faucet doesn't work properly, (makes a horrible loud noise when we turn it on) so we use the tub faucet instead. the carpet is in bad need of replacement, large lightcolored stains and in need of some vaccuming.

Basically... it was a bad hotel and i would not recommend staying there if you can help it. Go camping instead... Thank goodness we didn't have a black light... *shudder*

“Just Don't Bother Staying Here”

Wellesley Inn Danbury

We arrived at 2:30AM from Tucson to attend a funeral later that day. We checked in and got into the elevator welcomed by the odor of cigarette smoke. It was even stronger in the hallway in front of our "non-smoking" room. Upon entering the room you first notice a large piece of wallpaper peeling from the wall above the TV not to mention the other two smaller areas of peeling paper. Ah....no hangers for my suit. The friendly receptionist did not have any, but said she would leave a note for housekeeping to bring some up. The "Deluxe King w/Sofa" had a chair- no sofa. The bedspread, the blanket under it and the floor adjacent to the bed all had numerous burn marks from cigarettes. The sheets didn't even fit the bed! Breakfast: Lots of cereal offered -no milk, so we took mini bagels & cream cheese back to the room. The annoying iron would automatically shut itself off after about 30 seconds requiring one to push a reset button to continue. We returned to the room later that evening to the same nasty odor, no hangers had been brought, and the remnants of breakfast were still on the desk. The indoor pool looked better off for chlorine mutated frogs than for humans. Attempts to contact anyone at La Quinta via phone and email have been unsuccesful until today-almost three weeks later.
Good News: We were credited in full for our 2 night stay and the TV worked OK.

I was forced to stay here for 1 week by my company. The first night I was there, I was propositioned by a fat, nasty hooker. I woke up and went out into the hallway and there was garbage in front of several doors. I called the front desk and told them. They replied, "So clean it up!" I took a shower and the tub was clogged so bad that it took 2 hours to empty out. I called and reported it and they said someone would take care of it. 2 days later someone came up and fixed it. Anyway, back to the garbage in the hallway. After a couple of hours, I went back out in the hallway and there they were... 3 BIG RATS eating the garbage on the 2nd floor. They ran away and I took the garbage and sent it down stairs via the elevator. I called and reported the RATS and they said, "There are no RATS in this hotel."
The whole building should be condemned. It smells and everything is broken. The electrical sockets are hanging out of the walls and the carpets are filthy. The bedding smelled like it had never been washed and the staff were as clean as cockroaches. They really didn't clean or sanitize anything. PLEASE DON'T BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!

We stayed for two nights in this hotel. The website has the La Quinta logo so we assumed they would have the same quality standards as the rest of the La Quinta chain. We were wrong.

The hotel shares a parking lot with the Outback restaurant next door so parking was a problem. The exit only door didn't shut properly so anyone could gain access to the hotel even without a room key.

There were cigarette butts and an empty corkboard covered in graffiti in the elevator. The mattress was thin and hard and the shower knob was very difficult to pull. The shower head supplied a meager spray.

The amenities consisted of one bottle of shampoo and two small bars of soap. We were only given two small towels. The coffeemaker filter basket was filthy.

The website says there is an outdoor pool but we found out after arriving that the pool is indoors. This could be considered a bonus but we didn't pack swimsuits so it was a disappointment. It was probably a blessing in disguise if their cleanliness standards for the pool were anywhere near those for the rest of the building.

The website said there was a free continental breakfast but the in-room directory made no mention of it. I called the front desk and was given directions to the Breakfast Room. It wasn't worth the effort as the selection was very limited.

We left a tip and a note for the housekeeper asking for more disposable cups and extra towels. When we got back to our room at 8:00 pm, housekeeping hadn't been in. I inquired at the front desk and was told housekeeping only comes when you call or "when you've been there a month". I have never heard of this in all the hotels I've stayed in.

We checked the in-room directory and saw checkout was at noon so we packed up and left right before 12:00 pm. To my partner's surprise, his room key didn't work. He checked at the front desk and was told check-out was at 11:00, not 12:00.

The whole building had the feeling of an inner city tenament. I would never stay there again.
