“Mixed feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

I have to agree that the course itself is wonderful in terms of quality...the attitude of the mangement staff for the most part, not so much... starters and rangers are first rate....they say they treat non-residents well, but I must disagree with that statement....I have played here many times until this year....one incident was the quote of one price and reserved online that was not honored ....however,my pet peeve is a discount book I purchased that says golfers play for resident rates...but, they won't honor the senior status as does every other course in the book I have played....as to the restaurant, it deserves all the accolades mentioned here on TripAdvisor....great staff, wonderful food...

“great for non-golfers, too”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

There are several trails, access to which requires crossing between the putting green of one hole and the tee of another. As long as you respect the golfers with quiet and stillness while they putt or tee off, everyone is happy. The trails are well-marked, up to a point, and then it's easy to go around in circles trying to find your way out. In winter, when the course is closed, there is a great hill for tobaggans and sleds. Some of the ponds freeze well enough for skating, but we haven't had a cold enough winter recently to make sledding or skating possible.

“A great public course”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

This is a very well maintained and challenging public course. Not too long, unless you play from the Championship tees, but is it pretty 'hilly' with some skinny fairways, and several holes where you can't see the flag from the tee.

“Still one of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

Richter Park has been lauded in many golf publications for years. I have played there on and off for almots 30 years. The conditions are still fantasic. The setting is perfect,. the greens and fairways top notch for a local muni. And where else can you go to see quick sand!

“Super golf course”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

Beautiful golf course which becomes even more beautiful in fall when all the leaves are in color...prior to falling down. One of the top public courses in the country.
