I have been going to this restaurant for years and have always found it to be a pleasant dining experience with excellent food and good service. My family and I love this restaurant and are friendly with the owners- an American man and his Thai wife who does the cooking. The vegetarian yellow curry is my favorite entree on the menu, and all of the appetizers are very good. Their Tom Ka Gai (coconut soup with chicken) is amazing. They also make homemade coconut ice cream, and the mango with sticky rice is delicious but only available for a very short time during the year when the best mangoes are available.
Having been to Thailand recently for a month and a half, I can say that the food is certainly adapted for American tastes, but I don't think this detracts from the overall experience. As far as I know, this is as close to authentic as Thai restaurants get in the area, and whatever adaptations have been produced still make for delicious meals. The staff do vary- most are very nice, friendly, and accommodating, but I have been served by some overly quiet waitresses who seem shy when it comes to smiling and interacting. I find the atmosphere of the restaurant quite relaxing. It is somewhat dimly lit but the bright decorations provide a nice contrast. You shouldn't require reservations, but it can get crowded on weekends.
