Sushi and sashimi excellent as always. Recommend this restaurant for fresh sushi and sashimi. Sushi chefs are very friendly .

“Disappointing dinner out with friends”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

Our first trip to Koo will be our last. We hoped to catch up with friends over a good meal. Didn't happen. To start the hostess had no idea where she was suppose to seat us so we were shuttled back and forth. The space were we were seated was quite noisy and cold due to a draft from the front door. The service was terrible and the timing of the food to the table worse. Everyone's first course came out at a different time. It made it awkward to chat as someone was always without food. The food that did arrive at the table was okay, not great. The soups were tasty but one entree was too salty to enjoy.

“Subpar and Tasteless food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

I used to work at the original Japanese Steakhouse Benihana for 3 years back in the 1980's .It used to be the only Hibachi Tappenyaki restaurant around back then. Now these restaurants vary from great to not good at all. Koo wasnt good at all. The soup was very bland and the sushi tasted like it came out of wal-mart Great value brand. My meat was over-cooked and not very tasty. As for the show. All these restaurants even in Mexico have exactly the same show the chef puts on.Some do it mechanically and some chefs get into it and actually seem to enjoy it.Our chef here wasnt too bad as far as the show. However after seeing the show 1,000's of times by working at benihana and being at these places alot it gets kind of predictable. You know what the chef is going to say and do next. Also these places since you sit around the table with strangers can vary from an awesome fun time to feeling very awkward just to get thru the meal. Also most cases you have to sit there until 8 people are at the table before the meal can even be ordered. All in all this place is about 2 stars

“Boo Koo”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

What it lacks in atmosphere and upkeep it unfortunately doesn't make up for in the quality of the food. Below average sushi inelegantly presented. Really, get some sushi from you local grocery store, go home and sit in the shabbiest chair you own while watching Honey Boo Boo and your meal will surpass Koo's in quality and ambience.

Before our sushi arrived, we ordered chicken lettuce wraps that were gloppy and overly sweet and sake that was undrinkable.

Honestly, we eat out quite often, and have tried sushi all over the area. This was the worst.

“terrible service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

The attitude from the manager was unacceptable. Very unfriendly and extremely nasty. The food was fair and the portions were small. NEVER again.
