“A Delightful First Anniversary Celebration”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2007

My husband and I celebrated our First Anniversary at 3 Liberty Green. First of all, Clinton is a wonderful little town to escape to if you are short on time and looking for a getaway from busy NYC, Boston, or other surrounding major cities. The town is rich with history and the fall leaves are GORGEOUS. 3 Liberty is a short walk from a beautiful bay/beach area and a short drive away from a wonderful pier area where we spent hours relaxing. Even though the town is small, the food choices are surprisingly wonderful. We found a great Indian food place in a five minutes drive and there is a scrumptous Hibachi Resturaunt walking distance. The Inn itself, while small, is impeccably decorated. Our room was my personal favorite of all the rooms. The General Horatio room has very romantic decor and a private bath with a double Jacuzzi tub. 3 Liberty offers great package deals. We had chocoalte covered strawberries (which were amazing and homeade by the innkeeper) and bubbly delivered to our room as well as a visit from a massage therapist. Glenn, the innkeeper is fantastic. If you want a private romantic trip, he will let you have that, and if you'd like to get to know him, he is full of resources on the town. The breakfast was INCREDIBLE. He was very attentive to our likes, dislikes and the food was just great. I highly reccommend this Inn for a weekend getaway.

  • Liked — The Rennaissance decoration of the room and the jacuzzi tub
  • Disliked — The Inn was smaller so it wasn't as private as we would have liked

The LIberty Street Inn is a wonderfully restored 1732 house with a front porch that faces the Town Green. We stayed in the beautifully decorated Abraham Pierson room, which had the largest, most comfortable bed we've ever slept in, plus the bathroom had a jacuzzi tub as well as a shower, so the room itself was perfect for us.

The breakfasts, prepared by proprietor Glenn, who was a wonderful host, were delicious. The egg-tomato pie we had one morning was just spectacular, and of course there was always great coffee, juices, wheat toast, cornbread or potatoes, bacon and/or sausage, quiche, and I can't even remember all we had, but it was all scrumptious. Cookies were available every afternoon in the living-room area, where tea and wine were always available. Glenn has a ton of information about the area available in the living room, and he is more than happy to do whatever he can for you to make your stay even more pleasurable.

We were a short walk from the town beach, the Historical Society, The Andrews Memorial (a town hall definitely worth a look with its marble floors and a brass statue of a stag to greet you inside the front entrace), a wonderful cafe/art gallery just a short walk away on the Boston Post Road. Look for a milepost marker placed by Ben Franklin on the Post Road just across the street from the Pierson School. Be sure to visit the Clinton Harbor. If you like old cemetaries, its a short walk to the Clinton Cemetary, in back of the Congregational Church. Antique stores are also close by, including one across the street from the Pierson School.

Mystic Seaport is about a half hour drive, and there are many points of interest in the area.

There is nothing we could ever say negative about this B&B. Glen the owner and Helen were just outstanding in making our trip fabulous and were very accommodating. This has to be the best B&B that we've stayed in so far and the breakfast's were fantastic and the room was great! We'll be back!

  • Liked — Very friendly and accommodating management
  • Disliked — Traffic could be a little noisy in the morning but you get used to it

What a great place! I am not one for B&B's, I prefer hotels, but place really changed my mind about B&B's. Glen (the new owner) was excellent...he really went out of his way to help us with what to do in the local area and to just relax. The jacuzzi tubs in the rooms are GREAT.....I will most definitely stay there again. I have been converted from a hotel stayer to a B&B stayer...at least if they are all like 3 Liberty Green.

  • Liked — Everything, the place was just great....
  • Disliked — Cannot think of a thing. Except that now I want a jacuzzi at home!

We just returned home from a trip to Clinton Ct, where we stayed in the most wonderful and charming Bed and Breakfast. We were immediately greeted by the innkeeper Glenn and the lovely Helen. There was instant warmth and a sense of feeling "right at home." The house has been renovated to have all the needs of modern day, but the wonderful wood plank floors, exposed beams and charm and character of the original home was kept in tact.
Our room was was immaculately clean with all the right personal touches. The bathroom had been updated with a huge jacuzzi bathtub. Each morning, we woke to an unbelievable gourmet breakfast served in the country kitchen. We truly enjoyed the conversations with other guests as well as with Glenn and Helen.
Personal touches included candles on the porch, chocolates on the pillow, cocoa, tea and cordials in the sitting room, music during breakfast, and my favorite, a bowl of chocolate candy by the front door.
There was plenty of literature about the surrounding area, with places to see and restaurants to dine at. In the three days we spent in Clinton, we visited Mystic Seaport, The Mohegan Sun Casino, outlet centers, we dined in various places, and we even found time to kayak to a private beach.
We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend The Liberty Green Bed and Breakfast to anyone.

We went to 3 Liberty for our Honey Moon, and had the best time. It was our first stay in a B & B. We were a little nervous being in such tight space, but the innkeepers, Nancy and Kevin , made us feel at ease right away.

The breakfast was amazing and huge. The conversation at the table was very pleasant and they recomended so many things for us to do.There are so many little towns to drive around and look at amazing sights.

We never had any housekeeping issues, everything was clean as could be.

We actually got to meet Helen, the new innkeeper I hear, and She was friendly and helpful as well. We are actually going back there for our 1 year anniversary.

We had a wonderful stay last weekend at 3 Liberty Green. Glen is the brand new owner of the place, and he's transitioning in with Helen's expert guidance. Glen was so friendly and helpful in suggesting things to do and places to eat around town (try Bill's for a fun dinner on the Marina). Our room was gorgeous and we felt comfortable just hanging out on the porch or enjoying the cookies and port in the lounge room. And the breakfast was delicious!!!

The B&B is in a good location for Clinton, near some antique marts and walking distance (maybe a half mile) from kayaking and the docks. If you stay in Clinton, I highly recommend a fresh lobster roll on the docks at the end of Commerce Street. There are picnic tables and a friendly local grilling up sausages and lobsters rolls- so delicious!

Clinton is a tiny town without a big downtown area, but there are a couple outlet malls about 10 minutes away by car and a nearby vineyard too. All in all, a relaxing getaway at a beautiful little place.

  • Liked — The beautiful house and room, the friendly inn keeper, good location, great food.
  • Disliked — Small town, many things closed early.
