“Second strike”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

We ate dinner at El Coyote soon after it opened, and found the food to be OK, and the service way less than desirable. We went to lunch with friends recently amd found that not much had changed. Food was still ok. Service was still hit or miss. One of our group was able to negotiate a lunch sized version of a dinner entree that wasn't on the menu. Another of our group had to order his beverage twice, and his soup came out with his entree, and there were no tortillas to go with his fajita fixings. Nothing earth-shattering, but still not up to snuff. We'll probably not visit a third time.

“Never again”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

Chips & salsa are good, otherwise blah, food made my entire family have a bit of sick stomach. Horrible service. 8 people in my family. 8 entrees served at 3 different times. 3 meals came out. Then 2 then 1. Right that's 7. They forgot an entree and the rice & beans that accompany the meal. Only 3 other tables, 3 servers were on. Next time I'm in a jam for dinner after kids ball game ill just order a pizza

“Got to do better”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

There was a hair in my salsa so that started me off on a bad foot. The beans were watery and had no flavor. Actually there was not much flavor to anything. Mexican food is very flavorful and fresh. Not at the store in Brookfield. People like it because its cheap so if you are looking for that, you are in the right place.

“No return trip for us”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013 via mobile

Only 2 people inside and table of 4 outside, when arrived was asked to wait they had no tables available. This was at 4pm. We looked at menu as tables of no people but lots of dirty dishes on every table were worked on, left from the night before? Starting to wonder. Table clothes on all tables where dirty and not fresh laundered so they put a piece of white paper over dirty table clothes, pretty gross on a side view of surrounding tables.

You can eat outside maybe 8 tables but 4 of them had dirty dishes with old food on them not being cleared by anyone, just sitting there.

Ordered food empanadas shrimp where good as app. Took long time however. Water refills non existing. Stuffed pablanos okay sauce was oily, rice very good had pieces of hot pepper, black Beans, when ordering I specified if refried, answer was yes! No refried just average black beans. Other dish was trio, taco beef, chick tostado, chick barreto very average.

Service was poor, water got refilled After asking twice, long time for bill. At which time a neighboring table had menus for drinks, another for specials and regular menu... We had not received any of those only main menu very disappointing since I would have ordered a margarita and looked at deserts at least.

Stop at your own risk, not cheap either, considering the dirty tables and average food.

“Best Mexican food in the Danbury area!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013 via mobile

This was our second visit here. The food is so fresh and delish! Their rice is the best I ever ate too. Best items on menu are guacamole, red sangria, skirt steak special dish, rice and beans, tamale and tacos! Def worth a try. It's not much to look at but staff is attentive and prices are fair.
