This hotel is very clean and the employees are always trying to make your stay more enjoyable and the friendly atomosphere is a welcoming one. The rates are reasonable.

Stayed at this hotel for one night as part of a tour group. Upon arrival the manager made us feel very welcome by inviting us to a welcome reception. This hotel is newly renovated. Everything in the room was new very clean and confortable. The room was also equipped with a Large flat screen TV. The staff was helpfull and courteous. We had the buffet breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant. Both meals were very good. We would stay at this hotel again.

Stayed at Holiday Inn Bridgeport this past Memorial Day weekend. When we last stayed here 2 years ago, we observed that the hotel was quite worn down and clearly needed a makeover. Well, the makeover occurred. Hotel was recently renovated, and it is much nicer. Rooms have brand new bedding which is very comfortable, new carpets, new furniture, and large flat screen tvs (although not a very wide selection of free channels: I guess they want you to pay for the on demand movies). Rooms are also good size. workout room has a multi service universal machine along with a few new weight machines. Had a very good meal in the hotel restaurant, restaurant does not have a wide selection of menu choices, but the food is good. Filet Mignon cut easily with a butter knife. If you like southern style food, walk 1/2 block from hotel to Miss Thelma's which is also a very good restaurant. Downtown Bridgeport is still worn down and rough, safe during the day, would recommend that you exercise common sense caution if going out after dark. I will definintely consider this hotel again next time we are in area.

We just returned from staying the night at the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport. Compared to some of the reviews we had no problems. The staff were courteous, rooms were clean and even the restaurant and bar were very good. We went to a concert at the Harboryard and it's a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We parked our car in the parking garage and never had to use it again until we left. We definitely recommend the Holiday Inn if you need a place to stay while you're in Bridgeport. We would return there.

The service was quite good but of what value is it to a guest if it is an environment where his/her property is not safe? My Sony digital camera worth $300.00 was stolen by one of Holiday Inn Bridgeport's employees. So, I advise guests at Holiday Inn, Bridgeport with one eye open because there is, at least, one employee who is a thief and s/he will always "strike" at the least opportunity!

Get over the neighborhood and stay in a wonderful hotel in beautiful downtown Bridgeport. Restaurants: Two Boots, Romas, Ralphs and Richies and some French Place across from Romas. Yum

The renovations recently completed in the rooms are great. Huge TVs, comfortable beds and a strong sense of security.

Great Value and wonderful service

  • Liked — just blocks from train
  • Disliked — neighborhood

When I booked this hotel on Hotwire I was very concerned about all the negative reviews...but they were all written prior to the renovation which has just been completed. This hotel is as nice as any in its class I've ever stayed in, and in fact nicer than many of them. The lobby was very welcoming and had an upscale feel, and everything in our room was BRAND NEW -- carpet, beds/pillows/bed spreads, bathroom tile and fixtures, furniture, curtains, big LCD TV, everything. The room was very spacious also. We brought a candle in case of a musty smell but did not need it at all. The lady at the front desk was not overly friendly but she was helpful and no-nonsense. It's a horrible shame that downtown Bridgeport has declined so much through the years, and this hotel is in the middle of it, but stepping inside you forget where you are very quickly.

Just remember you are still in downtown Bridgeport and it is NOT advisable to walk outside of the hotel for any reason, especially after dark.

  • Liked — Everything in the room was brand new and spotless.
  • Disliked — It is located in a horrible neighborhood.
