“Nice surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

The food was excellent the night we went. I wonder how they have so many specials. It was very quiet....holiday weekend, but the staff was attentive and pleasant.

“Just Doesn't Cut It”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

For year's we had always heard this was the place to go to for a special upscale Italian dining experience. We have tried it a few times over the years and always been disappointed based on that benchmark. Well we tried it again. and once again were disappointed. I tried the Carpaccio and it was so cold my teeth hurt as I tried to eat it. The main course was fine, just not memorable. The decor is really looking tired. So we may in a few years try this place again but we will have to wait till we once again forget the most recent dining experience.

“Dinner specials - not at this restaurant!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

We’ve eaten at La Fortuna on and off for a few years. We recently decided to give the restaurant another try as they were advertising dinner specials on a sign out front and it had been while since we had a meal there.
First, the bartender’s attitude made us feel like it was our responsibility to eat at La Fortuna rather than his pleasure to serve us. This attitude seems to be prolific in this restaurant.
Second, the bartender was pushing “specials” not on the menu. He was attempting to push entrees and appetizers which were not on the menu and he offered no pricing information for these specials. We stuck to the specials advertised and placed our order.
Third, we attempted to order a wine for each of us. Of course, La Fortuna offers no name wine for a hefty price (not well known to me and I have a wine cellar) hence eliminating the savings that may potentially realized by the special abbreviated dinner menu. Any well known vintner is even more expensive.
Let me assure you there is nothing special about the personnel, the specials menu or the food. This restaurant just doesn’t get it. The specials are a ploy to get you through the door but the real savings aren’t recognized if you wish to have a nice glass of wine with your mediocre food.

“So good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

You will love this restaurant. Pizza is so fresh and perfectly done. House wine was delicious. Special orders were done with a smile. Plenty of room for privacy. Warm and elegant without being formal or stuffy. Pearls or jeans, either or both will fit in fine.

“A little pricey but the food is an A+”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

The interior seems a bit dated with the "faux landscape" painted walls but it's charming nonetheless. Our server was an older gentleman who was friendly and spoke with a thick Italian accent. We felt bad for him though once the room started to fill up, as it seemed he was the only one taking care of the whole room.

Bruschetta appetizer was the best I've ever had. I had the rolled lasagna special and it was top notch. The side dishes (mashed potatoes/veggies) on my plate were not very hot though, they need to do a better job preparing the plates at the same time. My wife had the chicken parm and she said it was also great.

The only real complaint was the wait to get our check, and that they rang up one of our dinners twice. It would seem they need an extra server during the busy hours. The prices are high considering the location/atmosphere, but the quality of the food makes up for it.
