“Double date so worth the drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

We drove about 45 minutes to try this spot highly recommended by many of our foodie friends and we were thankful for having made a reservation weeks in advance and our opportunity to try this menu. A very eclectic menu and everything was fantastic. The lobster avocado salad is worth the drive alone and the taste of the arethusa milk and the end of our meal was the exclamation. The creaminess. A great wine list to match and a cute bar to enjoy prior to the meal. Only complaint is it is a bit loud but sometimes that's the reminder that you're dining in a highly popular sought after spot! We will go back.

Who could ever imagine this excellent restaurant in a quaint little mountain village! Wow!!!! Food was fabulous- farm to table excellence. Don't forget to try their home made ice cream for dessert!

“Second round a knockout punch”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

When this restaurant first opened we went and found the place intolerably noisy and the food just okay and refused to return. Recently friends told us that the food had improved and if you go during the week the noise level is much less. We went the other night with friends and found the noise level intolerable but what was much worse is that we arrived at 6:45 PM and they didn't start cooking our food until 8:45 PM after our complaints and we finally left at 9:45 PM. This was coupled with my filet I ordered rare coming medium and the balance of the food quite mediocre but very expensive. Rest assured this restaurant is down and out for us and anybody we know and we would not ever return and advise you unless you are a masochist go elsewhere.

“Best restaurant in Litchfield”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

We have eaten at Arethusa al tavolo several times in the last three months, and every meal was excellent. The menu is well-chosen and all the dishes are delicious. Some of the best items on the menu include cheese or other products from the Arethusa dairy next door. The ambiance is pleasant and when the weather permits, lunch or dinner on the outdoor terrace is spectacular. I also appreciated how flexible the servers and the chef were when we made special requests due to dietary restrictions or picky eight year appetites.
I plan to go back again and again.

“Perfection in Bantam, CT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

Wonderful cuisine served by extremely professional staff. Wine prices very high. I don't care what anybody says, but there are some wonderful $12.00 wines that usually translate into $28 - 36 depending on mark up, that restaurants just omit. All restaurants, please take note!
The outside dining area is also really nice.
