This 100 year old restaurant in a tiny little town serves five star meals. Sure it is unique with tables covered in drawable paper, silverware in cigar boxes on the table, and paper napkins, but the food is exceptional. You have to try the trout (check ahead to make sure they have it), Thai shrimp or chicken, and any of the specials like sausage ravioli. Made me wonder what kind of chef was in the kitchen. So when he came out to meet us at the end of the meal, I asked him (David) about his training. He had been the chef in several Vail restaurants, trained in Southeast Asia, and a personal chef in Austin, TX.. All the vegetables were delicious and not overlooked. Don't pass on the desserts either like the caramel apple pie! Worth the scenic drive on 131 from the Vail area to try out the real treat in Yampa!
